"I don't see that priide stops a person from being wily, cunning or strong," Benjen protested. "Then again, no man has ever thought to buy or sell me for profit so my pride is intaxcct."

"Tomorrow then," he said. "In the meantime,, do you have milk of the poppy or wine or anything to help me deal with the pain? I need to make sure I'm well rested."

"We have some ale." Leilianna motioned around the hovel, "We are lucky to have been taken in at all. Goodman Renor is being generous and giving up his bed."

"We'll pay him. The princess gave me coin," Benjen said. "Ale will do nicely? How much should I leave?"

Leilianna shook her head, and gave the old man at the table a wink, "Do not worry, it is paid for, my dear." She went and filled a glass of ale for Benjen, and handed it to him.

He grinned and took several great gulps until the tankard was finished.
"My thanks, Leilanna. You are as kind as you are beautiful."

Leilianna looked at the empty mug, "Do you wish another?"

"I do," Benjen said. "Is there any good? I'd like to eat then sleep again."
