Jon smiles and thinks how long he can keep this up. "Yes I am one of the Redforts'. That must be very disappointing, who was it that gave you that scar?"

"Ser Aerion. Good fighter. I knew I could not match him but I was bored and decided to fight him on a whim. Now I'll have to explain how I got my ass handed to me in a training fight in almost every conversation that I get into. But for random wenching I can lie at least and say I got it fighting bandits." He reached into his breastpocket and unfolded a piece of paper, "MY mind is blinded and my heart choked by your grasp, dear lady, lend my your hand and pull me from this drowning despair." He looked at Redfort, "You seem the honest sort, does that sound okay?"

"Hhmm I fought beside Ser Aerion during the tournament he is a good fighter and it is to bad that he has done that especially during a training bout. That is fairly good, but It all depends on how good you are acting while you say them."

"Ah yes, acting as well. Point taken, and I suppose the tone of my voice will help." Maryn looks over the paper and folds it back into his pocket. "I don't blame him. He's a competitor and tries his best all the time. I will learn from my mistakes and just try not to screw up as bad the next time. I will go deliver this poem to my friend, I've probably taken up too much of your time."

"Very well, I hope to see you start training again after your wound heals fully, maybe you can challenge Ser Aerion again and in the future be the one who gives him a scar."

Maryn came to the training yard to see if there was anyone about.

There were a few Traitors' Sons, and a handful of Crownlander knights, and otherwise it was empty.

"Place is a ghost town," he muttered to himself and stalked off.

Kyle strode into the training yard, waiting for Benjen. He requested the guardian's presence for one last attempt at becoming a guardian in the Red Keep, so he had to make it look good.

Benjen swaggered into the yard with a sword in his hand, a blunted tourney blade.
"Payne!" He cried. "I heard your attempted meeting with the king went badly. How have you been, otherwise?"

Kyle turned around, an eight-foot long spear in hand, "I have been well, thank you. Thank you for meeting me." He stepped forward to shake the knight's hand.

Benjen shook the offered hand.
"Well, I'm at a loose end with the Queen keeping to her chambers at present," he said. "And I've no true friends at Court so your message got me out and about! Most of the men at Court see me as an upstart usurper. Half of them don't trust men of the North and that is what they hear in my voice in spite of my dragon's name."
OOC - Benjen isn't a knight because he comes from the North where there are few knights because most people, including Benjen's mother's family, follow the Old Gods

Kyle nodded, stepping back a few steps. He began spinning his spear about his body in a few rudimentary attack and defense patterns, talking all the while. "I'm glad that I could get you up and away from the stuffy confines of the castle. Perhaps a sparring match, friend Benjen?"
OOC- Sorry. I know nothing.

"I'll take you on with pleasure," Benjen answered. "I always enjoy showing southron knights how we northerners fare in battle."
