"Hello there," Maryn said as he approached his teammate, shield in hand, "I'm Ser Maryn, do you know how to use that sword?"

Rhaella Grandison turned, and nodded quietly. She was just shy of average height, with a scrawny, but tough looking body. Her auburn hair was tied back into a ponytail, and she looked nervous, "I am Rhaellla, Grandison." She offfered up her left hand, weakly.

He shook it and then kissed her hand. "First time I've done anything like this...But I think we'll do quite well." He scratched the side of his head, which was framed in sandy blonde hair. "You needn't be nervous."

"The sword hand does not make me nervous ser, it is what is in the other hand that I have concerns over." Her cheeks redden as he kissed her hand.

"You were brave to sign up for the competition. You shouldn't worry about, well, being tied together." Maryn hefted the shield in his left hand and realised she was possibly left handed, and switched the shield to his right arm. "Were you at the previous feasts?"

"I was not... I avoid them. My books and my sword are more then enough to sate my appetites." Rhaella answered.

"That's refreshing to hear Lady Rhaella. Do you write anything? Uh, for me I write poetry." He smiles nervously.

"Poetry? I find it quite tedious. I prefer the histories." She stopped and watched the King move to position, and rushed into the maze itself. Dragging her Partner along, reach the intersection she asked, "Which way?"

"Right," He said chuckling at her nervousness now forgotten. "I am suprised by your strength." He chuckled again as he ran beside her his eyes focused up ahead.

As they turned the corner a man lunged from around the corner his wooden blade making for Rhaella's head. Maryn stepped forward, and blocked the blow. The man stepped, back and lunged again, and again Maryn knocks it aside, then Rhaella stepped forward and "stabbed" the man in the side.
With a smile the "evil" man stumbled around and flopped dead to the ground. The corpse winked once as it laid there.

"Good show," Maryn said as they continued forward, "Nice work there with the sword." He grinned but kept on moving forward with her.

They come to a T-junction, and must choose left or right.
Rhaella smiled, "It is grand is it not. I slew him." She giggled slightly as they looked left and right. "I think there is a foe to the right."

"You decide this one. Perhaps they mean to trick us with putting a man on the right, when the free path is the left."

Rhaella smiled, and said simply, "Right." She charged down the corridor, and when the man stepped forward to attack she swung at him hard. He blocked the blade, and grabbing her wrist shook it violently her sword failing from her hands.
That was when Maryn slammed his shield hard under the man's ribs. He bent double, and punched the younger boy in the eye hard. Maryn slammed his shield back into him, and the two wrestled, but Rhaella managed to pull the man's sword from his grasp, and stabbed him in the side.
He fell over "dead".
Rhaella turned and touched Maryn's swelling eye, "Are you alright?"
