"I think I should like to write a few letters. I meant to offer Lady Stark my condolences for the death of her sister; I met her a number of years ago at Winterfel, she was a charming girl. I will see your septon as well, since you have offered," Aaron replied.

"Lady Beatrice is no kin to you. I see no reason why you should need send such a letter. It stinks of sedition to me." Talyn said before turning, "Lord Edmure, Lord Aaron was just saying that he would like some time to pray with the Septon prior to the execution of sentence."

"Well it is always nice to have a god faring feel clean before his head is removed." Edmure then turns to Aaron, "Lord Royce may I ask you a question."

"Yes, it's true, I did fuck her. I stopped at Ashford on my way to Horn Hill when I was first courting my wife. Both of Lord Ashford's daughters were sweet, but the younger's was the better cunt." He shook his head in disgust at the Manderman, and turned to Thatcher.
"Does not my bloodline entitle me to Royal Justice?" he asked seriously.

"Well if your trying to make me angry you fail Lord Royce as my wife is a Caswell. Seems that you even fail at jests. Now to that question. Did you really think you could win?"

Talyn bite his tongue. "You are an atainted traitor Royce. You are entitled to all that that entails," he said, "Lord Edmure, mocking the man now services no purpose. Let us go, the man can say his prayers, and it can be done with. There are more pressing matters to discuss."

/////////////////////////////////////////// After the septon had left, Talyn Thatcher returned. He looked dour,
"Lord Royce, I suppose this is a stupid question, and feel free to laugh and mock me, but for formalities sake I feel required to ask it. Do you now repent your rebellion against her grace's authority, and would you willingly kneel to her and rejoin her peace, knowing that you will likely be stripped of lands and title ?" Talyn rocked on his heels feeling like this was a wasted formality, but it was a checkmark that his list required, and Talyn was nothing if not formal.

Aaron looked up at Thatcher with a slightly confused look. "If I did? What would become of the Vale?" he asked with utter seriousness.

"You could not be a treasonous seditious pain in the ass," Talyn replied, "Tens of thousands manage it every day. You'd also be required to order the Vale to stand down, return to the Queen's peace, and serve the Crown. You'd publicly renounce the Royce claim to the Lord Paramount of the Vale, and to the Eyrie, Duskendale, Horn Hill, and all your other holdings. You'd be required to provide hostages for future good behavior, and you'd need to stay under confinement until the end of hostilities."
