Talyn nodded, "What of the rest of the realm. I have heard from Lord Trant. He says Eustace has raised ten thousand men, and is intent on defeating the Ironborn. I have also sent word to the Lords of the Vale. They have agreed to take the knee. Lord Edmure is currently riding out to rein in or destroy Lord Mallister's force. Is it only Lord Lannister that you fear with take this opportunity for rebellion?"

"No," Rhaenys sighed. "The North is a danger. Lady Stark demanded your head when she heard of her sister's death.. When I refuses she chalelnged me and so I was obliged to put her in a cell. I am sure that her people will rise in rebellion."

Talyn grunted. "It seems whatever pox, Tyberion gave her has finally affected her mind," He said, he coughed into his fist, "Forgive me that was uncharitable."

Rhaenys shrugged. She had lost all her affection for Beatrice Stark at the girl's refusal to see reason.
"It doesn't matter," she said . "I treated that girl like a younger sister and she did not reciprocate. I never did understand what she saw in that wicked old man. What really happened to her sister?"

Talyn shook his head, "I don't know. My archers were in the woods along the road side. You saw Lysa Penny at the Tourney, the girl doesn't miss. I don't know how they didn't see the girl. If they'd have seen her, they'd have checked there fire, I have no doubt. I don't know why the girl was traveling along side Karstark if she was a hostage in the first place! Why would he bring his hostage along the road, where he risks losing her? Better to keep her at Karhold. I blame Karstark for that, the villainous bastard."

"I blame him too," Rhaenys said. "You're right, it makes no sense. I wonder if the whole thing were plotted by Karstark to drive a wedge between myself and Beatrice? The girl's support has always been tentative at best. I know not what will bring the North back to us, and I'll wager that Greyjoy has found Beatrice in her cell and attempted to sway her to his own cause."

Talyn nodded, "It's the smart move. Although I'll be damned if I know what Greyjoy's angle is? What could he want? That damnable notion that he can be a king?" Talyn snorted. "It's a shame the god damn Braavosi didn't crush him for what Farwynd did at Lys."

"i know. We msut be careful though, because he has two of my children. I want him dead but the children must be made safe first," Rhaenys said.

Talyn raised his eyebrow, "Which children?"

Rhaenys looked deeply anxious.
"One of them is Prince Maekar but I am not sure about the other. That's why I hoped you had them here. I was told that Rolf got two of them to safety here, but I am sure you would know if that had happened."

"Safety is a vague term these days your grace," Talyn said, "I'm not certain there is any such thing, if there ever were."

"True enough, but there are few paces that contain even a measure of safety at present," Rhaenys murmured. "I know that Harrenhal is one of them since it has yourself and Kyma for its rulers. It will be some time before you and I can stand our vigil at the Great Sept of Baelor, that's if Greyjoy's men don't destroy the place as an affront to their own false god. Would you be so kind as to have rooms prepared for me? It seems I must make Harrenhal my home for a time. I am sorry to intrude but I am sure you see the necessity?"

Talyn waved his hand, "Of course, She's not as large as she was, but Harrenhal still has more than enough rooms for you. I'll send someone along to prepare them. You may also wish to utilize the bath house," He smiled slightly, "if you don't mind me saying so you've had a long journey."

Lord Euric arrived at the King's Pyre tower and left his sword at the door. "Lord Thatcher!" He said immediately upon entering, a look of relief on his face as he went straight ahead and hugged the man. "If I am ever glad to see a man."

Talyn looked somewhat uncomfortable about being hugged, but offered Euric a pat on the back in response.
"Ahh... yes. Welcome Lord Euric. I received your message. The death of Lord Aldric was fortunate. Given battle against his number was quite brave, and it seems the Gods still reward bravery, even in troubled times. As you may be aware by now, Aaron Royce has bent the knee, and the Vale with him. He is currently residing in the cells as my guest. And you could not possibly have missed the Dragon. Her Grace and Milo Bettley are here as well. I have word from Lord Trant, they are in the Storm Lands with ten thousand. But as far as I know, that is the extent of her grace Rhaenys Targaryen's realm, at the moment."
