Although reduced in size in the restructuring, the King's Pyre Tower is still a mammoth structure. It is here that Lord Talyn's chambers are.

Conwell is shown into the solar by Old Dog,
"Conwell of House Lannister," He remarks loud enough to get Talyn's attentions from a stack of papers. Talyn looks up, and than stands and approaches.
"Good to see you again Conwell."

Conwell smiled. "The pleasure is mine, my lord."

"I'm pleased that you decided to come. With twenty-thousand Dornishmen now declared against her grace, every body is a welcome sight," Talyn said.

"It will be good to be of service..." Conwell looked a little uncomfortable, "What are you intentions from here?"

"We are awaiting the final gathering of men, and Lord Euric's order, and than we will strike out to the Bloody Gate." Talyn said.

Conwell suppressed a shudder. "The Bloody Gate..." He pursed his lips. "You see, my lord, I am trained as any young nobleman, but I've never fought with live steel..."

Talyn nodded, "I understand. I was imagining you would stay close to the command staff. Not that such a thing guarantees your safety, but I had not intended to put you in the van." Talyn smiled politely.

Conwell blushed a little. "I intend to do my part, it's just that I discovered that I feel some fear at the prospect. I wonder if I am craven."

Talyn did not move to immediately dismiss the Lannister's fear, but instead considered them carefully,
"Fear is natural, and alone does not tell us anything about whether a man is craven. Cowardice is determined by one's actions in response to fear, not from fear itself. Fight as best you can. Fight with soiled small clothes, if you have to, but fight. And the rest takes care of itself."

Conwell nodded and the blush retreated. "I will do so." He nodded again. "Thank you."
The appearance of a boy faded and he continued, "So, I was not able to bring you too much. With me are three knights of the West. Ser Ben Crakehall, my mentor and Casterly Rock's master-at-arms, as well as two members of the House of Jast. Also, I brought 15 of our guardsmen from King's Landing, leaving the rest to tend to the manor there."

Talyn nodded, "That is quite alright, I did not expect even this modest offering, so I am quite happy. Ser Ben's reputation proceeds him, and fifteen men-at-arms is fifteen more than I had a moment ago, so I'll count it a gift."

"Good. Well then, if there's nothing further I'll rejoin my cohorts. You will let me know if you need anything?"

Talyn nodded, "get some rest. We'll need it soon enough."
