"I am very sorry milord, I had not heard that your brother was suffering so. . . I was made to believe his affliction was physical yet his spirits remained high," Rowan said carefully. "It is a truth that will never pass again through my lips," Rowan nursed his ale a bit and looked at Jefford to show that applied to him as well.
"Surely her grace would not mind you taking an interest in your nephew's from time to time."

"She will not once I have a word or two with her. She will see the import, and I can not wait to show them how to wage war. I suppose she will make me train the girl if I train the boys, but that will be acceptable." Eustace smiled in remembrance of his own training.

"Your father had no shortage of talent in the art of war, although it looks as if he could have taught you a bit more about drinking," Rowan laughed, "you have not refilled your ale in some time."
"You should talk" Jerrod said, "I am ahead of you both."

Eustace laughed and nodded, "Unlike some of my Kin, I loved my father, but he was not a perfect King or man. It was his excess that made him fat and weak toward the end of his life. I do not over indulge in wine and food because I can not say no to battle or woman. And I need to be strong some where." He laughed, and shrugged.

Rowan smiled, "all men must have their weaknesses, and battle and women are as good as any. . . speaking of women has mi lord a favorite or is he a lover of all the maiden's fair sisters."

"I have dabbled with one or two. But I am an idiot, and desire the one woman I can not have. She is so much more beautiful then any other woman I have seen that I can not grow excited unless I think of her." Eustace sighed, "I shall crush that thought from my mind though. For it can not be." He looked at the men and said, "I would appreciate it if you did not mention that aloud, ever."

Rowan did not even want to know who Eustace was referring to and happily erased the thought from his mind. "Mention what mi lord. . ."Rowan said with a blank look before continuing, "what is said in a man's keep should remain in a man's keep."

Eustace nodded, "And how goes your efforts to find a wife?" He asked in a distant way, it was clear his mind was else where at the moment.

"To be honest, I haven't even started to look, my father had always planned to arrange something for me but with his death this necessary task has fallen to me and I have little real talent for identifying suitable maidens," Rowan shrugged as he took another drink from his mug.
"He plans to win some poor girl's heart at the tournament," Jerrod offered with a smile and a sly wink. "Overwhelm some pretty young thing with his martial prowess. Though only a girl that doesn't mind looking down at her man, since Rowan spends so much time on the flat of his back, its probably the only position he would find comfortable."
Rowan blushed slightly that his fantasy was made public.

Eustace spoke up, "I know there is a Martell girl on the market. My niece, Arianne. She is quite beautiful. Other then that I have spent too much time avoiding proposals. I am not ready to remarry."

"Dornish women are quite attractive although I've heard demanding," Rowan said.
"Jerrod and I came across a Dornish girl in a Tavern just after my father died, mesmerizing as all hell but we watched her bust a man's nose open with one shot and not think twice, plus her brother is a mountain of a man."

Eustace smiled, "Large brothers just add to the supple taste of a woman." He winked, and chuckled.

"Well there are many that long for the risk and the danger, I prefer to fight my battles on the field rather then about the bedding," Rowan's cup was refilled by one of Eustace's servants.
"Regardless, I do not think I would draw much attention from the Martell's my fief is not that expansive, yet it may not hurt to make the introduction if the opportunity arises."

Eustace smiled, "She is my niece after all. I can put in a good word. At court there are surely a large number of available brides. You should head toward King's Landing. I have heard there will be a grand Tourney soon."

"Jerrod and I had thought about an early trip, scout out the competition, see the sights and so forth,"
"When he says sights he means local taverns," Jerrod explained in case there was any doubt.
"I fear that my martial skills have not been sharpened by the war," Rowan continued, "but nothing ventured nothing gain, am I right?"
