"But why?" Rhaenys asked. "There is nothing wrong with two brothers sharing a name. It seems likely that my sisters will keep their own names all their lives despite their marriages. I don;t feel threatened by that. Why should Eustace or yourself be concerned by bearing the same name as one another?"

Selwyn sighed, "My brother has been Lord of Storm's End for a long time, and I was raised to be king. He knows, by law, I am entitled to that keep and the head of our house. But I am not to follow that course. I will be a dragon's consort." His lip curled, "He must be the Lord, and bear Stags to carry on our house, while I must focus on my path. There can be no confusion of this."

"There is no confusion," Rhaenys argued. "Not as far as I can tell. By all means be the man fate requires you to be, but do not forget the house that raised you. I want our children to be proud of both sides of their heritage."

Selwyn nodded, "Of course."

There wasn't much she could say to so short a reply, though there were other things Rhaenys did want to say. She felt awkward as she summoned up the necessary words.
"Selwyn, I um...we haven't...Do I repel you now that I'm with child?"

Selwyn laughed, "No. You do not."

"Good."
She smiled, relaxing a little. They were still getting used to each other in all aspects of life and Rhaenys had feared they were drifting apart again after the separation at Moat Cailin.
"I had hoped you might come to me one night but you didn't so I thought I'd best come to you instead."
Still smiling, she leaned forward, took his face in both her hands and kissed him.

Selwyn kissed her back, and then sighed. When he pulled back from the kiss he nodded, and his hand reached out to grab her covered breast. He squeezed it through her shirt.

She smiled at him, knowing they needed to get back to working on their relations. She wanted to be fully at ease with him when they married.
"Have you ever thought about fighting in the bedchamber?" Rhaenys asked.

Selwyn stepped back to look at her, "No more then any other location?" He twisted his head so his missing eye socket was hidden from her, "I feel like I am misunderstanding you."

Rhaenys laughed.
"Pity. The idea has much appeal for me. I'm not speaking of you and I crossing swords in a training session, though I'd enjoy that too. I'll explain. Let us imagine that you chose to make advances towards me. I'd do my utmost to fend you off, all in play, of course, and you'd do your best to triumph against me. Or..I could play the conqueror, if you'd rather? I'd more usually the man's role but I don't mind taking it."

Selwyn lip quirked, "To what purpose?"

She had a feelling he was winding her up but she had to play the game. if that's what it was.
"To make love, of course."

Selwyn replied, "Would that make it more pleasurable for you?" He sighed, "I can try, I suppose."

She grinned at him, pleased by his acquiesence.
"Trying is all we can do when it comes to new things. You're right, though, it would please me to give it a go. You can choose whichever role you'd prefer."
