"Queens aren't supposed to have friends," Rhaenys said with a little sigh. "We have to be careful of everyone, for obvious reasons."

Gen smiled gently. "The same as bastards are supposed to be evil and twisted? Your the queen you can say what you will and will not do. After all even you need someone there for you when times are hrd and you feel that the whole world is against you."

The queen's face was troubled. Rhaenys knew the world was a hard place, especially for monarchs, and queens had it harder than kings. It didn't encourage her to trust new people yet sometimes she had to, and she was rather pleased to find that she could confide in the young Lady Greyjoy.
"i do, but I must beware of false friends, Lady Greyjoy. That is why I am wary. My lords and ladies may seek to please me as long as they require my favour but there may be some who would betray me once they have all they need."

"Then they do not deserve your favour at all." She smiled, seeming completly relaxed in Rhaenys presence.
"In time you will be able to pick out your false friends, I hope that I will never been included in that catergory."

"I don't think the garrisons are particularly large, but I'd recommend taking perhaps a thousand men," Rhaenys said. "You can ask for more if you need them. Ask Lord Selwyn. He'll know who best to send." "I have asked him for men before and I will ask him again, though I do not wish to go alone. Might I ask her grace to write me a missive saying that you have personally requested me to go and make an end to the Cultists in said fortress and that all who can spare men to aid are requested to do so."

Rhaenys smiled at Ganieda.
"I hope so too. Fortunately, you have the Ironborn propensity towards straight-talking so I think you will be trustworthy. Some of the Greenlander men and women, though, have a courtier's tongue. They think nothing of flattery and sycophancy, neither of which pleases me. I'd sooner deal with honesty. Although, there are those who are too honest and forget themselves in the presence of their queen. Very few of my subjects can find an appropriate balance."

"I could do that. Or, better yet, I will go with you," she said. "That way Selwyn has no grounds to refuse. The Mander keeps are named Rockwall, and Rivers Fall. We will need to consult a map. Selwyn might have one suitable, mine do not show either location. Euric, you do know that I will give yourself and Alysanne your own castle when the chance arises, don't you?"

"Then I apologise in advance Your Grace. I will never utter false words to flatter you if I dont think they would help you. The same I am sure that you would do for me."

"I would," Rhaenys agreed. "It serves no purpose to offer you false words, Lady Greyjoy. If ever that displeases you, so be it."

She smiled and sat back a little. "I am glad we've got that sorted then Your Grace. I would hate for some un-thought of word to throw a wall between our new friendship."

"So would I. Like I said, you have something that most of my subjects don't. I value that."
Rhaenys grinned.
"I don't care if anyone disapproves of you either. You have rank enough to hold your own and I know you can fight. It would be a fool who insults my Lady of the Iron Islands."

"I hope more would see it like that." Gen said with a wry smile.

"Has someone insulted you?" Rhaenys asked. "They'll answer to me if it happens in future."

Ganieda laughed.
"No more then my wedding. But like I said, I will take care of that little in-descretion. With luck yours will be less... eventful."

"I'd hope so," Rhaenys said. "We can't have the big celegration I wanted , but, as you can see, I'm with child, so I have to marry soon. My coronation will be splendid though."

"Im sure it will." She said, almost imagining the huge-ness of the coronation. "So long as you expect at least one reaver..."
