Trant appears tired the facade of playing diplomat slowly eroding, "What a miserable bastard that Lannister is," Rowan says as they finally approach the gate. Rowan could tell that Talyn was less then pleased with his performance.

"Did you realize that before or after you removed your mouth for his cock?" Talyn asked with a snort.

"Fuck you, I did what needed to be done, your tantrums almost cost the deal as it was. Your ultimatums would have gotten us nowhere except another civil war."

"It's Tyberion Lannister. If he agreed to it, it's because he's fucked us over, again. The only thing the man is afraid of his war, cause its the only time he doesn't control the outcome. He'll just be threatening us again, six to twelve months from now."

"Not if we take care of it sooner, it would have done us no good to have the North, West and Vale in rebellion. They are united now, in six months they better not be and to be honest they had not in fact violated the law. . . although it seems they communicated intent to do so, there was a clear over reaction on the part of some and I feel the Queen would have lost respect in the eyes of the people had we pressed forward, I think this solution could be put to good use and strengthen her position."

Talyn was not impressed. "If the gold cloaks catch the thief before he's made off with the gold, it does not mean he hasn't broken the law. How does this strengthen her position? He raised 8,000 men and made it half way across the country... and we blinked."

"And you don't behead a man for taking a watch, if we had went to war we would have lost even if we had defeated Lannister because Lannister made her appear a paranoid tyrant, if we go to war we should go with a stronger case then a letter that could be explained away in two breaths."

"Lannister's words sound no better from your lips, than they did from his Trant," Talyn muttered. He dismounted, and guided his horse through the gatehouse. "Although if you think we won rather than lost today, you're a fool."

"I didn't say won, I said not lost. . . there is a difference. . . there will always another battle Thatcher we just need to pick a better place to make our stand."

A stable boy approached and took the reins to Talyn's horse.
"I suppose you'll want to send a report back to the Queen. You can speak to our maester about a raven."

"Of course," he handed the reins to the stable boy and followed the directions to the Rookery.
