Character Personal History:
Eddard Storm is the natural born bastard son of Lord Hand Breck Dondarrion and his mistress Grace Hersey. He was born within a month of his father's execution by King Rodrick Baratheon after he was captured during the rebellion. His mother Grace Hersey took him to the castle Starfall in Dorne, where he was trained and educated in relative safety. It was there he met Alyn Ashford, a fellow ward. At first their stark differences led to conflict but over time they grew into friends.
When Ned became old enough, he was squired to Ser Arrik Brand, a traveling knight of some renown. At first they traveled Westeros, serving several different lords, but only long enough to receive their money. When winter came, Ser Arrik bought them passage on a boat to the free cities. Ranging around the eastern continent, they served several mercenary companies. Ser Arrik eventually garnered command of the Red Hands, a respectable company out of Myr.
After fighting their way in the Eastern Continent for years, news reached them of Others fighting their way south. Ser Arrik was loath to go and fight them, so Ned took things into his own hands. Gathering the few men of the company who would join him, they ran and hired a boat to White Harbour. When they arrived at White Harbour they were greeted by a gathering army. Through luck, Ned spotted the sun and chevron of House Ashford. Taking his odd company of thirty or so sellswords and ruffians down amongst them, they were taunted and called savages. Until a tall knight spotted Ned Storm at the head of the group. It was Alyn Ashford, his old friend from Starfall, now a knight and leading the Ashford swords to the North.
Ned and his company joined them, and when the last battle came they were surrounded by Others. Nearly all of the company was killed but for Ned, Ser Alyn and a few others. From there they agreed to join their forces to try and reclaim Blackhaven, peacefully or otherwise.
Character Physical Description:
Ned Storm is of an average height, with a lanky and tough build. He has the House of Dondarrion's dark auburn hair cropped short. A scraggly beard grows on his face, covering a scar on his cheek. His eyes are an extremely dark brown - nearly black. His dress is generally very plain and militant, studded leather being the most common clothing he wears.
