This virtually impregnable castle was built thousands of years ago, hanging on the edge of the cliffs of the Mountains of the Moon, from where Lord Brynden Royce rules the Vale of Arryn. The High Road can be seen from the castle's towers, snaking through the mountain passes up from the Bloody Gate, so small that it looks like a map upon which the trail has been marked.
