The lay of the land, mottled with lush forests, high hills, and pristine rivers stretches as far as the eye can see. Small villages pockmark the land, most close to the rivers or roads.

At the behest of Lord Tully, Simon Smallwood rides through the Riverlands, starting with the lands around Harrenhal he visits every village and hovel he comes across looking for volunteers to fill the Tully ranks as soldiers or workers to help rebuild Riverrun. He speaks with every able-bodied man he comes across, offering good wages, hot meals, and a roof over their heads.

In a small village a group of men is standing in the square, eying the man suspiciously.

Simon rides up to them to rehearse his speech as he had been doing for many days now.
"Good day," he calls as he dismounts and leads his horse closer. "I would have a word with you if you are not terribly busy."

"We ain't been busy in a long time." The largest of the men replies. "Farming used to be a prosperous thing." Another man put in.

"Aye, times are hard everywhere. Crops won't grow and people are growing hungry."
Simon shook his head. "But I bring a message from my liege, Lord Tully. He has sent me out to find any willing, ablle-bodied men and women to join his army or to aid in rebuilding Riverrun. You will of course be provided food, shelter, and a good wage for your work."

"Lord Tully?!" One of the men asks incredulously. "I thought they were all dead!" The big man steps up to Simon. "You lying to us, boy?!"

Simon smiles and produces Lord Tully's banner. "I would not lie about such things. Lord Tully is alive and well. As well as can be I suppose. It is Oswell that is lord now, the rest of the Tully line perished when the Others came down, some then some later on at the Wall driving them back to Hell." Simon's face grows darker as he talks.
"He is the last of his line and is calling for any faithful subjects to aid him. We have few enough troops and practically no workers. Hardly enough to even begin to rebuild. Should I take your surprise as a good sign?"

A man stood up,"If I join the army do I get a sword?"

Simon laughed, "Of course my good man. What good would you be if you had no sword? You will have a sword and armor and al the gear necessary for a soldier in service to Lord Tully. He is a fine commander and cares for his troops. You would do well to jooin his ranks."

"What does this Oswell want from us?" The large man asks. "We're just simple men, tryin' to find some work on the land."

"Don't you want a sword Felix?" The man asked the larger leader of the group.

"Lord Tully serves Queen Rhaenys, and her mother before her. We fight to sweep the land of Thatchter's followers, and have already won a battle against them. Lord Oswell offers work to anyone willing to do it, you do not have to pledge yourself as a soldier. As I said, he looks for workers to restore riverrun to its former glory. The choice is yours of course, I am not here to force anyone's hand."
