Ariel and William stood at the head of Karstark's two-thousand-strong army, facing down Aegon's interdicted force. At a request from Ariel, William ordered the wings of his unit to sweep forward, hemming in Aegon's army further.

The Princess sent a messenger to Aegon under an herald's flag, demanding that Ser Aegon Targaryen and Ser Aerys Velaryon present themselves to her at once.
