"They are the new rulers of Oldtown, and the Reach. The world is not static things have happened here while you were off saving my life." Thatcher smiled largely, "Have I thanked you for that, well Thank you, my son. You eliminated them right after I acquired everything I needed."

"Always pleased to be of assistance. So what, if you give battle, even assuming you win, which is never a sure thing, what then? King Thaddeus? The concept is ridiculous. A lot of things change, father, but how great lords treat common born men, that isn't one of them," Talyn said.

"Oh no. I am quite comfortable with a life behind the curtain of power. I have never felt the need to reign as king, just rule as one." Thadeus smiled, "I told you son, I could not get those armies to fight for me to save my life. But they would fight to defend their own... "rights"" He laughed and sipped from his wine.

Talyn snorted derisively, "Fine. Perhaps it would help you accept my presence here, if I was as mercenary as the rest of these men of yours, and told you what I wanted, in exchange for my help. Easier to judge loyalty when you know the price you paid for it, isn't that one of your sayings?"

Thadeus cradled his head on his fist and asked leisurely, "How much for your soul, my son?"

"I want Princess Kyma transferred to my care, and under my men. We'll be a tiny speck amongst the armies of those lords of yours anyway, so its not like she'll get far if she tries to run away. I want her released unharmed to her freedom, whether we win or lose the battle. If we win, she doesn't matter, and if we lose, doubly so. It's a cheap coin, but its what I want."

Thatcher shook his head sadly, "It seems if I want to buy your soul I should talk to woman you have given it to." He smiled, "No you will come with me, and help me because you are desperate to see her again. You will do everything in your power to guarantee I live because you know the only thing that keeps my men from being monsters is me, and my men have her somewhere. You will not betray me to Selwyn, his Dragon bitch or any of my other foes because you know I have them all infiltrated and if word gets back to me I will break one bone in the princess body. You will follow my orders because if you do not I will have her flogged. You can accept this arrangement, stand and leave this room. Or I promise you, you will never see her again." His eyes were locked on his sons during the entire diatribe.

"How do I know she's not dead already, if I haven't seen her? You're not above purchasing with a coin you don't have. So I see her first. And know Father, that if you, or any of these miserable cretins of yours do her harm, I'll kill you all. Everyone last one of you." Talyn met his father's eyes unblinking. He'd stared into the cold dead gaze of the Others. His father's eyes no longer held any fear for him.

Thatcher nodded, "Fine. In Harrenhal." He stood, "If you hurry you can catch up with your men."

"Oh you're not coming? Don't you want to watch as your forces sweep the enemy gloriously from the field?" Talyn snickered.

"Oh I will be there. I need to prepare myself for the grand show. Life is simply a farce." Thatcher answered. "And I do not trust you, my son."

"Why should you?" Talyn said, "I will see you a Harrenhal... father." he turned to leave for Harrenhal.

As he exited the Inn he sees the blond woman out here as well still dressed in the attire she wore to lead him to this village.

Sighing visibly, "I suppose your my nursemaid," Talyn said, "to follow me around and make sure I don't try anything?"

"Oh no. I just wanted to say good bye. It was a pleasure good ser." She waved a white handkerchief at him.
