"Well," She sighed disappointingly, "I guess we can go together. If you think this is a plot to murder all of your men in their sleep."

"A strange thought I know, Lord Thatcher has never ordered men murdered in their beds before." Talyn replied laconically.
"Old Dog, Take two-hundred forty men, and march south to Harrenhal. I'll take Jack's troop and follow this charming young lady."
The older man nodded gruffly but without words, and moved to order up the men.

Jack adjusted his red cap, and nodded as Talyn gave the order before checking that his gear was fitted properly should there be an attack.

"Sorry you drew the short straw," Talyn told the man, "but I need Old Dog for the bulk of the men, and Jax and Lysa are both too flighty for something like this. Just keep your eyes open aye?"

She leads him down the King's Road with the rest of his men for awhile, and then turns down a small dirt road that leads toward a farmers village. The whole time she is chattering about the dresses, and haircuts. She also talks of gossip about the new Dragon Queens, asking about each in turn. Winking when rebuffed, she smiles warmly if anything seems to have slipped from Talyn's mouth.

"How did you like Princess Kyma's haircut?" He asks the woman pointedly, a half-smile curled on his lips.

Jack shrugged. "I've drawn the short straw since the day I was born, Captain Talyn. Why should now be any different. I'll tell the man to be on constant watch for trouble."

Talyn smiled slightly, "Well, don't worry Jack, I'm sure it's all downhill from here."

"How did you like Princess Kyma's haircut?" He asks the woman pointedly, a half-smile curled on his lips. The woman turned to study Ser Talyn, "You should have had a woman do it. Men have no sense for a thing like that." As they enter the small village there is no movement on the streets at all. But at every window Talyn can see there are Crossbow men positioned and they all studied him.

Talyn watched the men with care. Positions like that? You'd lose ten men before you killed your first bowman. His father had never been one for fair fights.
"Let's get this over with." He said firmly.

Jack noticed the crossbow-men almost as quickly as Ser Talyn did. He shook his head, and mumbled to himself.
"Of course, Jack. You go down the path of the righteous and this might be they way you are killed, filled with arrows from a enemy you can not fight."

Outside the small inn two men stood.
One who could only be described as long. Even his red hair seemed to stick up straight from his head. He wore no armor, but had two sword hits above either shoulder.
The other man wore plate mail and no helmet and his head was scarred and shaved. His armor was bore no sigal but the symbol of the Seven.
They had a very heavy feel about them.
The Long man smiled crookedly, "One Traitor's Son at a time." He held up a single finger as he barked out his order.

"Jack, wait here, and keep our boys calm. If everything goes to hell, get out alive, and regroup with Old Dog." Talyn gestured vaguely in the Long man's direction.
"Alright, let's do this." He said, stepping forward.

Jack just nodded, and turned to the men after the Captain had entered the inn.
"You heard what the Captain said. That goes for everyone of you."
He motioned for the men to find places to rest, but still be on guard.

Entering the inn Talyn sees the large common room, with two tables laid out for one person each. They are several feet away from one another. One lies close to the door almost immediately in front of where Thatcher entered.
There is a line of tables and chairs upended between the two tables. The far table is next to the bar, and Thaddeus Thatcher sits calmly. Behind him perched on the bar are five more crossbowmen all pointing their weapons at Talyn. Also in the room are four platemail clad warriors and two servants.
