He's shown in at once Rhaenys is tired and dressed in sober black, unsmilling.
"Lord Tully," she said politely. "What would you have of me?"

Oswell leaves James outside to wait and walks in with Ser Cleos. They both sink to one knee and bow their heads, "You Grace, thank you for seeing me on such short notice," Oswell says. Cleos mutters a greeting, unsure of what to do in the presence of royalty.
Oswell looks up, "I would talk to you of the Riverlands You Grace, or what is left of it."

"Of course. Have you received recent intelligence of your homeland, then?"

Oswell stood and pulled Cleos to his feet lest his knees cramp. "I have recieved word of Riverrun...though I wish I had not. From what I am told it is in ruins, much as I expected after we were routed. It is much the same everywhere. Those that lived around the keep fled when it fell, some returning but they live on hardly anything. The Riverlands seem to be a wasteland, a shadow of their former glory. I have seen or heard nothing of our Lord Mallister for many months. I have been leading what is left of our fighting men since long before the Last Battle."

"Thank you for that. What would you have me do?"

Oswell straightened, "I would ask to know what your plans are for the Riverlands, for all of Westeros for that matter. I have not had the chance to sit and speak with you since we moved South and so I think it would do us both good to know where we both stand. I would like to know what you wish me to do in Lord Mallister's absence. As I said, I do not know whether he yet lives but I have led my troops this far and they look to me as their leader. As far as I see it the Riverlands is without a Lord Protector..." Oswell trails off, realizing the tone he is using with the Queen.
"My apologies," he stutters, "I just do not wish to see the Riverlands...and House Tully swept aside. I am the last of my line, ad I do not mean for it to die with me, nor for it to be simply a shadow of it's former glory." Oswell looks to the floor, not knowing what else to say.

"Nor should it," Rhaenys answered. "We will have to find you a bride so that House Tully may continue. Keep your command of the Riverlands troops and you will be rewarded for your service when I am in a position to see to it. If House Mallister is gone...alternative arrangements must be made. Does Lord Mallister have no kin, though?"

"He had a wife and two sons last I knew, though one of them was badly injured in battle. I do know not if he yet lives. I'm not sure what happened to the Lady Mallister either, the lot of them seem to have dropped of the map. I have sent men to look for them or any word of their whereabouts but I have had no success. I will do as you say, it will be a comfort to keep my command until everything is resolved."
Oswell smiled at mention of a bride, "Having a Lady Tully would be most welcome Your Grace, most welcome indeed. It is my hope to have Riverrun once again ring with the laughter of the little ones. It is a beautiful place in summer, made all the brighter by the children running around. But listen to be daydreaming...I thank you again for seeing me. Is thee anything you would have of me? I am yours to command." Oswell crosses his arm acros his chest and bows.

"I need only your loyalty," she said. "There may be something more you can do for me, in future, but it depends on the circumstances. Tell me, though, how well are you regarded by your fellow lords of the Riverlands?"

Oswell nods. "I would like to think I am regarded well enough, I have had little time to speak with them. I have never gotten a bad feeling from they way they act around me though. They carry out my orders with no complaint and I listen to their council when they see fit to give it. Why do you ask Your Grace?"

"I wondered if it might be possible for House Tully to profit where House Mallister has suffered, depending on whether Lord Mallisters heirs yet live. I am sure you would appreciate such an opportunity?"

"I would greatly appreciate such an opportunity. House Tully was the traditional Lord Protectors, I would greatly like to see that title restored. You are kind to give me such an opportunity." Oswell bows again, "If there is nothing else I will leave you to our business Your Grace. If you have need of me you need only call on myself or any of my men. We are yours, each and every one of us."

"I'm glad of it. Good day, Lord Tully. Do not hesitate to call me if you have need of me."

"I shall Your Grace." Oswell turns to leave, pulling Cleos around with him. Cleos mutters his goodbyes and the pair leave with Ser James in tow.
