"I've said I'll consider it. I will want to be sure that it's a move the men of the Mander approve, though, before I make an appointment. We are about the business of making peace here, so I must choose the right man for the right position. I hope you understand?"

"Of course Your Grace I trust in your wisdom." Limner Edmure and Tallahar all bow and then leave.

Borcas arrives, clad in his furs.
"My Queen." he says simply and stands aside, waiting for her to speak.

Saenarys arrives, being tailed by a new warrior with black hair.

"Greetings, Borcas, Saenarys. Please sit down. Have a drink."
She hoped her brother had put their quarrel of the other day aside.
"Gentlemen, I have a proposition for you both. I assume you heard about Aegon's...defection?"

"Most troubling." Saenarys said. "What sort of madness has possessed him?"

Borcas took a seat and poured some wine.
"Aye, I have." His glare was burning with anger.

Rhaenys paced the room, a glass of wine in her hands. She looked extremely agitated.
"Aegon is impetuous and troublesome. He failed to understand that I meant to give him an honoured place here in Westeros when we have defeated the Cult, and he dared to question my motives. He questioned his queen!"
She didn't look at Saenarys as she said that; their own disagreement on that subject was still fresh in her mind and troubled her, though she knew he'd meant no harm.
"I relieved him of his command and told him he could bow to me or leave. He chose to leave, which wouldn't matter so much in itself. The insult in it was that he dared to encourage my men to desert. Men who followed Mother and myself from Sothorys. Yes, he was their commander, but only because I made him so. He stole thirty of our men. Thirty! And now he has left me without a commander for them."

"Do you want his head?" Borcas asked bluntly.

So many dragons, spewing flame in different directions.
"Shall I gather a force? My intelligence suggests a larger group following him now." He said, shaking his head.
"Say what you want, Rhaenys, and it will be done."

She looked at the two men, comforted by their loyalty.
"Tonight I will issue a proclamation that Aegon and his turncloaks have a month to bend the knee once more. If they fail they will be considered traitors and the men may be hanged for desertion. As for Aegon, I'll want him alive. It was no easy decision to make, I assure you both, but it had to be done. In the meantime, I need someone to command his men. It is my decision that you, Saenarys, will have the command. Borcas, you will be his second-in-command, and especially responsible for the cavalry."

Saenarys nodded. He had led a force twice as large as the current one, though, that one was much more distinctive.
"What would you have us do, Your Grace?" He asked. "Shall we continue on? Or shall we pursue?"

Borcas simply waved his knot.
"As you order. I am honored to accept such an assignment."

"We'll continue as planned. I want to give Aegon time to swallow his pride so it would be churlish to pursue and besides, I need all the men I can get to deal with matters in the south. You should both keep an eye out for Aegon, of course, and for our deserters, but the war must be our main priority. We cannot let the realm suffer for the ill-feeling between Aegon and myself."
Her voice was firm and calm, stronger than it had been for some time now.
