7) Character Personal History: Talyn Thatcher is the only living son of Thaddeus Thatcher, Hand of the King, and eldest daughter of Aerie Blackwood and Seth Falgrave, Catalina Falgrave. Talyn grew up in a life of privilege in the Red Keep as his father ran all of King Rodrick's affairs. His father, who was, as his names suggests a simple thatcher, wanted more for his son, and so he was constantly forced to study with the best maesters, and politicians. His father was grooming him for some great fate, it seemed. But Talyn was more like his mother than his father, and wanted nothing so much as to join the other noble sons' in the Red Keep's training yard, with sword and shield. But that was not for Thaddeus' son, war, in the Hand's opinion was a profession, "For half-wits. Great men win their battles without raising their hand."
When the Long Winter came, Thaddeus had no idea just what his father would mean by those words. Unlike the many great lords who would remain under Thatcher's manipulation, Talyn was much closer to the truth, and he heard the reports of the Others coming in every day to the Hand's Solar. As the Cult of the Dead God struck at the very heart of Westeros in the Red Keep, there was screaming and chaos. Like any young teen, Talyn ran to find his father. When he saw him, in the alcoves speaking in hushed tones with masked, armed men, the young boy realized the truth. Talyn fled into the wilderness. Eventually, after wandering he found a group of men being rounded up by King Selwyn, who had also fled King's Landing. Saying nothing of who he was, or what he knew, Talyn followed the King into battle, knelt to Saella, and went North. He fought as a footman, in the ranks with every other man, and feared every day that his identity might remain known. No secret can forever be hidden however, and eventually he was found out. Hounded, he was nearly chased out of the army, until several men came to his aid, saying that no man should be judged by the deeds of their fathers. Those men would join Talyn to become the Traitor's Sons, and called themselves a sellsword company, though they fought for no coin. They were instead bound not by greed, but by a desire to buy with their lives, redemption. At the final battle, they fought as only those who have no desire to live can. Luckily (or unluckily) Talyn did not have his way that day.
8) Character Physical Description: Dark haired, and pale-skinned, with attractive features and a soft-spoken temperament. He wears the arms of disemboweled man hanging from a gallows.
9) Character Reputation: Known for his capability on the field of battle, but unable to shake off the reputation of his father's treachery.
10) Followers:
1. "Quick" Jax: a seventeen year old boy, who Talyn and William found at a small northern farm which had been destroyed by wights. Quick Jax had survived by taking refugee beneath the floorboards of the stables. Called "Quick" for his tongue, he lives up to it in other ways as well, as the Sons fast rider, and best scout. Fighting with two short swords, Jax is a strong, but not exceptional fighter, but works well in tandem with his comrades to provide quick counters while staying behind their defenses. The boy is somewhat neurotic, a symptom of the events which led to his joining the Sons, he can jump at loud sounds or shouts, and is constantly looking over his shoulder lest he be surprised.
2. Lysa Penny: An eighteen year old girl, whose father was Ser Tomas Penny, a respected tourney knight, and her mother, the only daughter of a rich merchant family from the free cities. Tomas Penny loved jousting, swordplay, and all the skills of knighthood, and after many successful tournaments, wanted to pass on his skills to his son Wilfred. Unfortunately, Wilfred died of the bloody flux at age eight. So instead Ser Tomas poured all of his desires for his son into his daughter, teaching her to fight with sword, and axe. Lysa's real talent however, is with the hunting bow, able to maintain accuracy even while loosing a great volley of missiles. She is stubborn and a tombody, and will accept a challenge from a male at any task.
3. Alister Sands: Tall, heavily muscled, and tanned, and a hit with all the ladies, Alister Sands claims to be a bastard of the late knight of Spotswood, Osney Santagar, although many dispute it, since old Osney would have had to been nearing his fifties when the boy was born. Alister is a fierce and deadly fighter, using the traditional Dornish spear and shield, and reputed to be a master of blood toxins and snake venoms. Is called the Python, but mostly by his female admirers.
4. Ser Antony Clifton- A heavyset man with an irritating nasally voice, and an attitude bordering on the unconscionably rude and often publicly drunk. Clifton is somehow still an exceptionally talented Quartermaster capable of stretching the last stag and star to an impressive degree, and receiving the best deals on trade goods largely so the merchant doesn't have to spend anymore time talking to him.
