Talyn approaches him, and gives him a salute before.
"Squire Tallbody, what do you have to report?" Thatcher asks, eyeing the man for any clue of how long he'd been gone.

Tallbody dismounts easily, and loops his bridle over the limb of a tree. "Been done to Winterfell. Its clear all the way there, but some men are holding the keep. It has a Lion and a wolf flying." He pulls a waterskin, and drinks deep.

Talyn hmmmed loudly. "I see. Starks and Lannister men do you figure? Doubt they'd be with Thatcher, if the banners are true, but it doesn't make them friendly either. Necessarily. How were the walls guarded? Heavy or lightly? Were they running out any patrols in the countryside? Were there any small folk in surrounding town or villages, were were they tucked up inside do you think?"

The Squire sighed as he removed the skin from his mouth, "Lightly, no patrols, some small folk, the gates were open but not alot of people so I did not try and enter."

Talyn nodded. "Probably wise. We should refer this to Lord Selwyn as soon as possible, he may be able get those slug abeds moving. Did you by any chance range further from the King's road? scout towards Last Hearth or the like?"

"I did not got myself. We had eyes on it though. Custodian force though." Tallbody replied, "A man on his way to the King. Bumped into quite a few Northmen. They are all headed toward Winterfell, to see the New Queen and the Old King."

"Good news that bit." Talyn nodded, "With what Lord Bolton told us, that should confirm our Eastern flank is relatively secure, so if we choose we'd be able to hustle to Winterfell on the quick. Anything further for me Squire Tallbody?"

The Squire nodded, "The word is that the force at Moat Cailin flies a black lizard and towers."

Talyn nodded, "If Moat Cailin is in friendly hands, I should be grateful, though I find it strange that Frey and Reed would be able to tolerate each other. We can hope however."

Tallbody nodded, "Should I head back south or wait to hear back from the King. I sent some men down toward the Moat, but I would like to get my own eyes on it myself."

"I'd like you to keep moving and scouting Tallbody, better to keep our eyes open, lest the situation start changing before we hear back from the royal types. I'll relay the message to Lord Selwyn." Talyn says with a nod.

Tallbody nodded and smiled. He walked back to his mount and mounted up easily. And rode away soundlessly.

After Tallbody left, Ser Brandon came to the Commander's quarters. "I take it you'll want me to ride back up to the Wall, to tell them the situation, Ser?" he asked.
