Selwyn appropriated Kijo Sand's Solar to use as his center of operations.

Talyn entered behind him, and saluted smartly.
"Welcome to Castle Black milord. I'm prepared to report when you're ready."

Walking in Selwyn turned to Thatcher, "Report."
Musgood, Roxton, Dunn, Yew, Tallbody and Mills all walk in as well.
Followed by Kijo Sand and the First ranger Ser Thanos also enter.

"Ser. Along the route the vanguard rose to eight-hundred and fifty men, including 300 from Lord Bolton, and 300 from the Night's Watch under Ranger Fischer. We arrived, and found First Ranger Thanos in command. He reports the Night's Watch strength is at two hundred men. Lords Rill and Locke have one thousand men apiece. There are an additional four-thousand men of war-fighting age, but untrained and under no-one's command. There are also four-thousand women and children who are present. There are suitable stocks of food, and other provisions, and the armory contains substantial amounts of weapons and armor, far superior to the numbers of the Watch. As my courier previously may have told you, Lord Bolton has reported that Moat Cailin is held by the Cult, but otherwise no enemy activity of note has been reported in the vicinity of Castle Black. Milord." Talyn said finishing his little spiel. He handed a written parchment containing notes of the same to Roxton.

Selwyn nodded, "You have been here two days. What would advise me to do." His eye fixed on Tallbody, but the question was clearly for Thatcher.

"Milord, We'll need more men if we are to progress further south in any strength. If the Cult holds substantial fortifications like Moat Cailin, it will require more than three thousand to retake. I would order conscription for all men of fighting age to bolster our ranks, and outfit them with the stocks from the Night's Watch. The Night's Watch should stay here, to guard the Wall and our rear. The black brothers have expressed concerns of further attacks from the North, and though i think it unlikely, it would be a possibility. In the mean time, Tallbody can have the scouts determining the situation to our south, and the safest route to Winterfell."

Selwyn nodded, and looked at Roxton significantly, "That is the plan. Tallbody get me a route to Winterfell. If it is clear press on to Moat Cailin. I want to know how many." He looked to Kijo, "How many men you need?"
Kijo thought for a long time, "I do not think an attack unlikely. Leave me a thousand men."

"Milord, what of the Wildlings? They've traveled with us so far, and no one has made mention of it, but will they be allowed south of the Wall as well?" Talyn had nothing against Wildlings, they had fought the others as hard as any. But there were certain rules and customs in place, and if they were going to change, it shouldn't be by accident.

Kijo looked up, "We have already made some deals with our former enemies. And with the losses suffered by the North we are willing to take any who can follow our laws and work a farm. They have been our allies. Today they continue as allies. Tomorrow..." he shrugged.

Talyn nodded. "As you say Lord Commander." Talyn turned back to Selwyn, "Do you have further orders milord?"

Selwyn nodded, "Get some rest, and get drunk. You have done a good job Thacher. My doors are always open to you."

"Thank you milord." Talyn said, with a respectful nod he turned on his heels, and headed towards the mess hall where the party was said to be starting.

Selwyn was sitting in a chair reading a book. His eye turned around and focused on Talyn, "Come in."

"Good Evening milord," he eyed the title of the book from where he was standing, "If it would not be too forward, I was hoping I might make a request?"
