"I do not wish to be forgotten amongst others who seek the Queen's favour. Some necessities cannot be ignored however. But, you have my sincer thanks for hearing me. My man here will be upset that I did not use him as my voice."

Ariel nodded graciously. "Indeed. If there is anything else you need, feel free to ask." She turned to the man. "I apologize for speaking directly, but waiting for translation slows the flow of speech."
One last turn to Shahrizai. "Oh, and a word of advice. When asking favors of the Queen and Hand, don't mention that you spoke to me. It won't help your chances."

Shah gives a small smile, "I will keep that in my mind princess, it troubles me to hear of a fued however small or large it may be. And is there something I can do for you in turn princess?"

Ariel smiled. "I have no present needs that I can act on, unless you mean to raise your men to my banner without any guarantee of pay, and I won't ask anything so ridiculous."
She then raised a brow. "On the other hand, if you hear of anything that might be of use to the army, send it to me. I'm still in charge of the whisperers until Selwyn says otherwise."

"If I learn anything I will know who to turn to. Even though we help, we are still considered foreigners. It is true yes, but we have shed blood just the same, and as it seems, to the same purpose as any other." Shah waves off her translator. "I have not spoken with this Selwyn, but I will try for an audience."

Ariel smiled. "Good day to you then, and I'm glad I could be of some assistance." She leaned back on the tent floor, visibly a bit tired.

An old knight dressed in sea-green dented armour appears at Ariel's tent and asks to meet with the Princess.

Ariel's guard admitted the man. Ariel sat, as usual, on her cushion, smiling at her visitor.
"Hello, hello," she said with a wide smile.

The knight pulled back his hood to reveal white hair and a thin beard on a lined face...a face that over the years had seen much.
"Greetings. I am Ser Aerys Velaryon. I come here on behalf of Prince Aegon."

Ariel grinned, then had a maidservant bring the well-worn second cushion. "Sit down, Ser Aerys. You know your master and I have been conversing, but I'm still curious as to what he wishes to speak with me about."

"My master has been recovering from a wound received in the last battle and was confined to his tent. He wished to meet with both his kinswomen after the battle now that the..... errr......political situation.....has become more complicated."
Aerys paused, studying the woman in front of him.
"Aegon has met with Rhaenys personally and now.....", he grinned back at her, "....he wishes to meet with you."

Ariel nodded. "Well, I'm not exactly in a position to prance into the Targaryen camp in front of everyone's eyes, and I'm out of black dye. If I slipped into the Prince's tent, I'm sure you could understand how he might rapidly lose our cousin's favor."

"Indeed." replied Aerys.
"Incidentally what on earth possessed you to press your claim at the Council of Lords?"

Ariel smiled. "That was exactly the right time," she said, chuckling lightly. "I put myself in play without, in point of fact, risking anything, and incidentally made Selwyn look a complete fool. A pity, he used to be a much stronger man, but I suppose that was when he had me advising him." She shrugged. "Honestly, the only thing that went wrong was when Lord Dawnrose made an idiot of himself and incidentally dragged his feet into battle lines."
