"Home." He said, quietly. "And I regretted it every day, though it was something I had to do." He moved farther from the reproachful Liliyanna, and to the center of the tent.
"I am happy to be here, and to see you are safe. That was my biggest worry. It was why I joined the battle in the first place, to insure your safeties."

"Are you ever gonna tell us?"

"I went as far East as you can go without coming home again. I moved that way for years. I drew a collection of rabblerousers and noisemakers, much like myself. I climbed mountains, swam in seas, battled in basins and trenches. I supped with kings and sorcerers and comely wenches kept my bed warm for the entirety of my time. It all sounds fantastical to repeat, but it is what I did, though in all of that, I was never happier than here with my family."
He paused. "I am sorry about your mother."

Rhaenys had been listening quietly to her siblings. She summoned a servant to bring food then favoured her brother with a smile.
"Your kind words mean much, Saenerys. I know you cannot share our feelings about our mother but I'm thankful that you care enough to think about how we feel. We should all breakfast together, as family. I would what my siblings think we should do next before I make a definite decision."

"Then there is still a member we need to gather." Saenarys said, smiling. "Kyma. Probably busy scrapping with some boy out on the battlefield. It was always her way."
He nodded. "Shall I send someone to fetch her?"

Liliyanna glanced at Saenarys, then moved to her sister's side. She kept the Queen between herself and her brother, "I will eat with of course." Her forced smile had faded and she just looked haggard.

///////////////////////// Lord Jaime Corbray and Maester Perestan arrive to the tent in the evening of the day when Queen Rhaenys had breakfast with most of her family. Lord Corbray says it is a matter of state and that he needs to see the queen.

Rhaenys smiled at Saenerys.
"Please do sent someone to fetch Kyma. We should all be together before I come before the lords of Westeros to see who my friends are among them."
/////////////
Some time later...
Maekar arrived and greeted his queenly cousin.
"Rhaenys, Lord Corbray is without. He desires an audience with you. Apparently it's a matter of state."
Rhaenys considered the request, which, to her mind, sounded almost like a demand.
"Ask him what he wants," she said.
Maekar nodded and went back outside to Jaime.
"My lord, Her Grace the Queen wishes to know what it is you wish to discuss. You may be assured that I have her full confidence in all things so you may speak freely in my presence."

"About what I promised to her." He smiled pleasantly and Perestan's face stayed serious, he only raised an eyebrow "I fulfilled my promise about taking command."

Maekar nodded. Rhaenys told him most everything so he knew what Jaime meant. He was, however, more suspicious than Rhaenys and didn't care who knew it.
"Prove it," he said. "Any man can speak words no matter how true they are."

Jaime raised an eyebrow "I have no way to prove it unless the queen or you come to the Vale camp with me. I held a speech and they all knelt to me and to her grace, Queen Rhaenys." Maester Perestan spoke after him "I believe there is no need for suspicion, Ser Blackfyre. We are all friends here." He smiled pleasantly. He heard about Maekar Blackfyre while walking through the various camps.

Maekar frowned.
"Oh come, now, Maester, surely you will not fault me for being wary on behalf of my cousin and liege lady? I do not doubt that your Lord Corbray here is loyal but I do not know the lords of the Vale. I'll wager Her Grace will want to have the Valemen kneel to her personally soon enough."
Rhaenys had been watching behind the tent flap. She now stepped out to and nodded at Jaime.
"Forgive my rudeness, Lord Corbray. I thought it best to be careful. So it is done?"

"I trust your judgment your Grace." Jaime bowed his head "It is done indeed. Maester Perestan, he showed at the old man, helped me with the details of my speech and I managed to put the men to your cause. Unfortunately, only three hundred, but still, the nobility and the army of the Vale. They will all bow to you at the council you will hold."

"Good. There was no man who attempted to persuade you to fight for another's cause instead?"

Jaime shook his head "None your Grace. Ser Baelish, Anne Stone and a wildling known as Motho are my sworn swords and they are very popular in the camp. I have been dining with the men every evening as well, to get closer to them, to see how they react to some things. They all see a guide and queen in you, Your Grace."
