"Becawyr was slain. Hopefully the daughters and their dragons survive, or else we might meet the same fate as our companions did. Sure we fought alongside Selwyn today, but tomorrow he might not view us as kindly."

"Seven of two-hundred of my troop remaining m'lord," Talyn said in a perfunctory way, "And no milord, I'd not seen him. Once we hit their main line, it was all confusion and chaos. I saw the Queen go down, but I don't know what happened in anywhere but my own little slice of hell." Ustice wiped at his red rimmed eyes, "We have to find him. Go find him." He looked around and began to stumble toward the North-West looking for Selwyn.

Jaime nodded "We realize that the Cult destroyed a lot of the south and that the journey itself will be dangerous. But we will prevail." Perestan nodded wisely "The Others aren't destroyed. They never will be. On this day your mother postponed the apocalypse, my queen, and saved Westeros."

"Yes milord," Talyn replied, heading off through the bodies of the dead, poking and prodding, hoping for a living Baratheon. He looked first for the King's standard, thinking perhaps i would be near it.

Rask walks across the battlefield slowly, leaning on the trident he wields as if it were a walking stick. A shadowcat stalks at his heel, its fluid movements in stark contrast to the jerky pace of the old wildling.
Rask stops in front of a body, not quite cold. The boy could not be more than seventeen, and though his entrails lay strewn across the snow, he still clings faintly to life. Rask kneels, slowly, his old bones creaking, and says a few faint words. Then his trident jabs snake-quick into the dying youth's throat. Rask rises and continues on, completing his ritual for the next of the dying that he sees, and then the next after that.
His men, those that remain, do not interfere. They huddle together like the survivors of a shipwreck, shocked that they remain where so many others have fallen.

"He'd be a fool to abandon all the help he can get." Euric replied, his lips tightening into a stiff line. "We still have to actually get back past the Wall and into the realm." He narrowed his eyes. "He knelt to Saella after all and one of the Princesses is her true heir."

There is not a single standard stills standing besides the Sun of Martell, and the Dragons of the Targaryens. The rest lay trampled and broken in the bloody snow.

Imry repeated his words with some amusement. "One of the princesses is her true heir."

"Curses," Talyn muttered, as he poked and prodded through the bodies, until he found a living man, resting among a pile of the dead.
"You, man, who do you serve? Did you see Selwyn the Scarred?"

Euric smiled briefly. "I don't think I am ready for any jests yet but it truly is somewhat of a problem we stand before. You'd hope Rhaenys and Liliyana would support the other if one of them made up their mind to become Queen."

"I serve... well the Queen..." He wiped at his brow, "And how could you miss that man, he is like a walking scab. He was always to the front, and I think I saw him to the east."

"She did, and the realm will remember," Rhaenys agreed. "The bards will sing of my mother's courage for a thousand years to come. I will make sure of it. However, before we think of restoring the south to its former glory, we must give thought to making sure House Targaryen prevails. My sisters and other kin will support me, I know, but there were many lords and knights who fought under my mother's banner. Those who survive should swear fealty to me and then we must sit in council to discuss how best to approach Selwyn. It would be crass of me to demand his obeisance at once. Will you help me to round up my mother's followers, Lord Corbray?"

Talyn dropped the man where he lay, and moved eastward at a quick pace, only stopping to confirm his position on the field of battle, and compare it to where he thought Selwyn's command should have been. As he progressed, he asked others if they'd seen the burnt man.

"Well let us take this out of our minds and go find Princess Rhaenys... you said you had seen her?"

Will you help me to round up my mother's followers, Lord Royce?" "I will. I am one of the rare Vale nobles that survived and I will lead the men of the Vale back south in your name. I am certain Dorne will kneel to you as well. Those who don't will eventually see their mistakes. I will make sure that happens." ooc: I'll assume you meant Corbray not Royce
