1) Character Name: Prince Edrick Baratheon
2) Character Age: b. 470, making him 48, I believe
3) Character Nationality: Stormlands
4) Character Byname: The Black Stag
5) Character Skills (Choose 2 beginner skills, 2 novice skills, 2 apprentice skills, and 2 noteworthy skills and 1 expert skill): Beginner Intrigue, Beginner Tactics, Apprentice Horsemanship, Apprentice Sailing, Noteworthy Swordsmanship, Noteworthy Oration, Expert Persuasion
6) Character's Second (Choose 2 beginner skills, 2 novice skills, 2 apprentice skills, and 2 noteworthy skills):
7) Character Personal History: Lord Edrick Baratheon is in fact the long estranged younger brother of the King’s grandfather. Angry and disgusted over some long-forgotten quarrel with his brother Rodrick, Ned left the Seven Kingdoms, wanting no part of a family where only his brother would be remembered by history.
The fame seeking Ned sought out the Nine Free Cities, looking for some means to set him apart from simply being a foreign crown prince’s brother. That fact proved quite handy however, as Ned attended many parties and sprinkled tales of the recentDondarrion rebellion and the long-gone Targaryen dragons and how his ancestors battled the Targaryens for the crown more than once, emerging victorious each time. He soon became a popular fixture at such gatherings. Eventually, a magistrate in Pentos gifted him with a fine ship as a token of affection.
In the coming years, that same token of gratitude became an omen of fear amongst the coast. He wandered the coasts, encountering and battling Dothraki, marveling at the works of the red priests, examining the remains of what were claimed to be dragons, and walking away from it all quite wealthy.
When times became hard, he would fall to pillaging merchant ships and then returning to the Free Cities as a wealthy traveler with gifts for the latest big gatherings. It was at one of these parties that Ned heard the tale of his father’s demise. After all these years away, Edrick had not once wrote or even acquired about his brother Rod, who would most likely be running the country by the time Ned received the letter.
Ned suddenly had a reason to return home. He was now the King’s brother… there would surely be some great parties waiting in King’s Landing.
Unfortunately, the only thing waiting for Ned was a dull job as Master of Ships and an arranged marriage to some Hightower woman he only enjoyed fucking for the first few years… it was not a very long stay.
Borrowing a few ships but practically abandoning his position and family, he went back to exploring. He didn’t even attend his brothers funeral, only coming home years later when he was broke. Returning to court, he discovered his nephew in his old position and a pair of angry adult children in his home. He was on the verge of cursing his lot in life, when his nephew's death was announced.
Edrick had never really known his oldest nephew. Callen almost certainly considered his uncle a waste of Baratheon blood and seed just as his father and grandfather had. But young Rickon barely knew him... perhaps Edrick might distact himself from boredom by entering politics.
8) Character Physical Description: Edrick Baratheon is of average height, with long curly brown hair and a small face a trim beard. He has often been described as the spitting image of his distant ancestor Renly.
9) Character Reputation: Edrick’s reputation as an explorer and adventurer has probably reached Westeros by now. Most likely though, he is still better known as the king’s brother who abandoned the kingdom... twice.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1)Character Name: Ser Auric Ashtongue
2) Character Age: Unknown, though he assumes himself to be in his late 20s
3) Character Nationality: The North
4) Character Byname: None, though ‘Ashtongue’ probably counts in some way
5) Character Skills (Choose 2 beginner skills, 2 novice skills, 2 apprentice skills, and 2 noteworthy skills and 1 expert skill):
6) Character's Second (Choose 2 beginner skills, 2 novice skills, 2 apprentice skills, and 2 noteworthy skills): Beginner Archery, Beginner Politics, Apprentice Horsemanship, Apprentice Survival, Noteworthy Intrigue, Noteworthy Swordplay
7) Character Personal History: Auric has very little memory of his childhood, other than the many ramblings of the Maester who took him in or the faces of other children in the street. The far North was always harsh, but living so near the Wall was enough to remove any concept of joy. The only real residents were black brothers and their bastard children. The children’s mothers, once having attained enough money to support a trip south, abandoned their biological droppings and left to prostitute themselves in warmer climates. As the children reached maturity, their only career choices lay in the Night's Watch or along the road. Auric chose the road.
Years later, a veteran hedge knight calling himself Ser Auric Ashtongue emerged from the North. He lists many well-known knights as sponsors and rivals, though suspiciously each are dead, missing in minor civil wars between houses. Like a merchant, he lists the famous figures as though marketing a resume rather than spinning a tale of glory.
He is incredibly ruthless and often takes 'dirty' jobs from his superiors. He usually leaves camp not long after, for fear of being murdered by paranoid officers before he mentions the deeds he has committed for them. More of a freelance mercenary than a true hedge knight, he still possesses a hint of nobility. He is loyal and honest, a man of his word. If he is asked to murder the child heir of a rival, he does it without inflicting suffering.
Ser Auric Ashtongue is the sort of northerner that Eddard Stark would be ashamed to call a neighbour. Auric himself would agree emphatically.
8) Character Physical Description: Auric is a tall, somber fellow with lanky black hair and no facial hair. He is well-built, but there is nothing exceptional about his physique. His eyes are a very unnerving shade of blue, almost like snow. He tends to stare at people quite hard when they're speaking, because he knows it unnerves them and makes deception more difficult.
9) Character Reputation: If there is a job you need done quietly and anoymously, Ser Auric Ashtongue is often whispered as an excellent choice. His frank and rather cynical nature has made him very unpopular with certain clients, but his loyalty and discretion have always been valued.
10) Your AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ or email address (so other players may have the opportunity to contact you). You should probably just PM me if you want to talk.

1) Character Name: Maester Darren (Sand)
2) Character Age: 23
3) Character Nationality (Stormlands, The Reach, etc): Dorne
4) Character Byname: (probably nothing nice)
5) Character Skills (Choose 2 beginner skills, 2 novice skills, 2 apprentice skills, and 2 noteworthy skills and 1 expert skill):
Beginner: Ravenry, Navigation Novice: Religion, Horse-riding Apprentice: Higher Mysteries, Linguist (High Valyrian) Noteworthy: Stewardship, Healing Expert: Counsellor
7) Character Personal History:
His mother had excelled at bringing men into their home. A boy had once thought one or two of them might eventually have married his mom, but it was not to be. Not a one returned after the Illness.
At first his mother, Illene, was frantic with worry. As the days passed, she settled in for a fight, calmed, and devoted every minute he was awake, to him. He now knew how she had made the coin necessary to get help from the Martells' manservant. If the Maester hadn't come... Darren certainly didn't think less of his mother. She cared for him, and if she was a whore, what did that make his father, a man he never knew?
As a child, Darren had been unable to cope with the fear, as the skin on his arm and side turned a sickly gray, hard and scaly. At one point it had covered half his torso. The boy had struggled for breath for days. The fever had him delirious most of the time. Demons of smoke and flame harrassed him, awake or asleep. Only his mother's face peered in from the darkness to give him peace.
A month later, it was over. The Maester didn't know how a boy survived something like that, but took him to the palace every week for lessons anyway. It saved some of his mother's coin, not having to feed him, and she was glad to see him get an education of sorts.
The boy longed for those lessons all week. He hated his neighborhood, the cruel children who no longer played with him. They mocked him, threw stones and worse. When they did not simply run away, screaming.
Once he had been a happy child, but no longer. He saw himself as he was seen by others. On the right side of his face, red-brown skin gave way to a long pink scar from his hairline, down his face, his neck, to his shoulder and chest. Beyond that jagged line of flesh was a nightmare of gray stone, or near enough: it would never heal; never feel anything. It would always be cold, hard, scaly in some areas, pitted in others. His hairline receded a bit, having made room for that awful landscape, and where it resumed was a network of white hair, which never seemed to grow, but would never simply fall out, always standing in stark contrast to the ebony hair which adorned the rest of his head.
He was a monster, and he knew it.
The Maester was kind to the monster. He never looked askance at the boy, always treated him with respect due to someone far more talented than he. The boy had always been enchanted by the gray robe, which was always clean and soft, with its chain of many colors chinking and tinkling as he moved. He always ran out to meet him when Maester Harryn arrived every fourth day. They would walk the dusty streets and time would melt away. None of the children would do anything to him with the Maester there.
They spent an entire day, the Maester teaching, the boy learning. Numbers, letters, history, art, society, heraldry, religion... Four years passed all too quickly in the room with the hard chairs and big, green stone adorned with years of chalk. The boy began the lessons at age nine. He would run home at night, staying along paths he knew would be empty except for drunks. He would arrive home, breathless from fatigue and wonder. For the first year or two, Illene would ask the boy how the lessons were, what he had learned. After that, the boy noted her distance and quiet manner, and decided she couldn't keep up.
One day he had returned from the lesson to find his mother already asleep. The next day, she remained in bed. And the next day. And the day after that. The boy snuck into the palace to find the Maester. Two times he was kicked out, but he would not be stopped. Three days he had fed his mother broth thickened with honey, trying to keep her alive. He was desperate.
On the third try he found Maester Harryn and brought him. Tugging and crying, through the streets, the boy was half-mad with fear they might be too late, and joy for hope that his mother, already wasting away, might be saved.
The Maester had spent an hour with Illene. The boy spent the entire time sitting up against the front of his dilapidated home. After an eternity, Maester Harryn summoned the boy back to his mother's bedside. She was clean now, tucked neatly under the covers. The Maester had removed her clothes. An empty cup wafted odd-smelling fumes from the floor.
"Your mother is going to die, Darren," The man in the gray robe explained. Even now, the man's features escaped his memory, but the boy remembered the words. "Her profession has other dangers beyond the greed and cruelty of men. She has the wasting disease. She's far too gone. I've given her milk of the poppy to ease her rest, but I do not expect she will live beyond another few days."
Struck mute, the boy could only nod. His mother was all he had. He wanted to ask whether she would wake again. If he would have a chance to tell her he loved her. The words wouldnt' come. His throat was thick and tight. It was enough just to breathe.
The Maester, not unsympathetic, took three vials from somewhere in his robes. He softly and patiently explained to the boy how to mix the contents with water and another herb he would send for. To have his mother drink it four times a day. To bathe his mother every day: It was important to do this, he said, even though the boy might feel embarrassed. Above all, he told the boy to wash his hands every hour, or he risked catching the Wasting himself.
Two days later she died. The boy had sat in the darkness and listened to her dry, whispering breaths as they slowed, became irregular, and woke soon after realizing it was over.
The Maester came four days after his last visit. Illene was committed to the flames; she had been one of the odd few who had worshipped the Lord of Light. The boy was taken to a place called the Orphanage, a day or so's journy from Sunspear, a city the boy had lived in his entire life. A life that was over for him.
At the Orphanage, he was no different from anyone else. None of them had claim to money; all were either bastards, or without parents anyway; and he was not the only deformed child there. Some had appendages that either wilted into useless masses of flesh, or simply ended prematurely in a stub. Some were scarred by accident or cruelty. The boy was home, in a way his mother could never have provided.
Three years later he left that place, not looking back. The lessons had not been free; the Maester had seen something in the child, and had taken him every fourth day with a promise to the mother of a better life for her child. A life of service, but one of neverending horizons. He would go to the Citadel. He too, would become a Maester.
Several years later, newly minted as a full Maester, he awaits assignment while he continues his research.
8) Character Physical Description: An unimposing figure, Darren's slim but toned 5'4" frame is remarkable only in the slight hump in his back. What is easily remembered, however, (and usually reviled) is the scarring on most of the right side of his face, from a childhood infection of greyscale. It has left the skin along his neck, jaw, right cheek up to the hairline a dull gray, hard and stone like, leaving a swath of white hair where it is closest to the greyscale. The rest of his skin is dark, showing his heritage from the Dornish sands. His hair is jet black, eyes a jaded green.
9) Character Reputation: Quick-witted and acid-tongued, but methodical and intuitive in his work. A poor diplomat, but a good man to have handy, if you can put up with him.
10) Your AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ or email address (so other players may have the opportunity to contact you).
