I thought that was biting your thumb? Yes, but than it wouldn't have been as amusing.

And by thumb you are cleverly referring to the index finger? No. I said thumb because that's what it is. It doesn't look like his thumb, it looks like his index finger unless his hand is twisted around or something.

Is there a full size picture of it we can see? I've looked at it as closely as possible, and whatever is touching his nose looks too long and thing to be a thumb, is in the exact right position for the index finger, and there looks to be a thumb folded behind the finger touching his nose.
So basically he's picking his nose.

Here is the base image I used. As you can clearly see his hand is curled into a fist with his knuckles resting on his chin, and his thumb is on his nose.

For fun he and his brother would often spar with eachother with only their fists and later with shortswords until finally he took up the polearm as he grew. As they spent more time together and got older they got into more and more mischief earning them the moniker of "The twin terrors". Their father was often away from the isolated castle, taking part in a tourney or supporting the Lannister cause and deep down Johan came to dislike his father for never being around. Thus he often sought attention not by performing good acts but by unleashing fiery rage fit for the Marbrand banner (a flaming tree). No one was safe from their cruel jokes and traps and often violent behaviour. After an incident where a stable was burned, which resulted in the death of several horses and their caretakers, the twins were forcefully seperated by order of their father Lord Addam Marbrand. Steffon was isolated in chambers, as it was he who was blamed for the fire. However, after the mysterious death of their father, Johan became Lord of Ashemark and subsequently released his brother from captivity. Johan would go on to intimidate those that crossed him, and bring more rigid structure to the lands around him. His dealings with minor crooks and outlaws armed with his polearm earned him the by name of "Long Arm" and it is whispered that his weapon is named "The Law". He oft times likes to go exploring the mountainous areas around Ashemark to gaze on the land before him, and treks through the valleys, and he is known amongst his people, although they do tend to stay out of his way. He has come to admire the lay of the land and favours the Tumblestone, which is deemed treacharous by many but through they eyes of Johan, it is quite beautiful as it cuts through the land like a spear. He may use justice as hard hard as the mountains around him and understands to get what he wants he may have to bend the rules. 8) Character Physical Description: Johan Marbrand is tall and slim, standing as rigid as his accustomed polearm. His hair, black, is cropped and much neater kept than most and it doesnt seem that his hair grows from his face giving him an eternally youthful look about him. His face is pale, slender and expressionless only showing emotion when he is interacting with his brother. Although of lanky disposition, he retains a deep inner strength developed by his treks around the land and is known to have an unnatural endurance, oft times he does not sleep for days on end contributing to his sleepy calm baby-faced appearance. 9) Character Reputation: Often thought of as out of control by his Lord father, Johan adheres to his own oft times cruel code. He is known for his harsh justice and expects his men and subjects to obey without question. Does not take kindly to hearing jests of him and his family. Known to be headstrong in his decisions and only seeks council of his brother. His subjects wonder why he never has shown and interest in women but trust in him to find a woman to tame him. 10) MSN: flw_fenix@hotmail.com Haha! Yes! Another polearm-wielder! Welcome, ser.

Well met ser, I'd prefer not have the blood of my enemies spred upon me if I can help it. After all the costs of replacing clothing so often would become outrageous!

Too true. Why slay your foeman at one arms length when you can just as easily do it at five?

Welcome to the game, Georth and Vorian! The only possible error I spotted is that I don't believe there are any Martell's left...major or minor.

Replying to Mychel's post in the other thread -
I can't imagine that he'd be all that pissed off really. Wasn't it a term of your legitimisation that Randwin's inheritance would still pass down to his oldest trueborn son?
Also, as Mychel is a member of the Kingsguard, he's unlikely to see all that much of you, and probably wouldn't give you much thought as he still considers you a bastard....
Unless of course Steffen wants something. Then Mychel will probably be his 'beloved brother, whom he holds so dear'.
