Well remembered Seth - and welcome back and to the meanest family in westeros since Balor Greyjoy sired pansies and died of shame

welcome Bolton! Though I never thought I'd find one who's an expert in healing. But then again if you learn how to heal you know the best places to torture right? Anyway welcome.

Crake, House Royce had absolutely nothing to do with the planning or execution of the Bloody Melee and you know that. Neither Breyn nor I were informed before it took place that it was even going to happen. It seems an odd reason to develop a hatred for us in particular.
If anything, Fossoway should hate the Dondarrions or Carons for that event -- they actually had a hand in it.
If you want a rivalry with the Royces, I am sure there are legitimate grievances to come up with -- Rhodri's arrest of Barret, perhaps, blaming that for Barret's suicide. But the Bloody Melee was your own creation, and using it against us now seems strange.

That's not totally true. The Royce's DID partake in the battle and DID kill Reachknights. This I am 100% sure of, because I recall seeing a post that said the Royce's had abstained from attacking the Starks, but not the Tyrell's.
In this particular case, Fossoway was friends with those who fell.

You wrote the scenario. I just reread it.
Neither Breyn, nor Rhodri, the relevant PCs, knew it was going to happen in advance, and I can guarantee Rhodri was not in the melee -- he only took part in the joust. In any case, your character, your motivations, do what you want.

I didn't say that he hated Rhodri specifically. I'm not singling you out here. Example: I know of a certain WWII vet that still refuses to eat Japanese food and does not trust anything made by the Japanese. This is the sort of battle-grudge I imagined.

Sure. I think I get it now, I just reacted to seeing our family name called out.

Hey I'm a newbie and I'd like to join in but I just have a couple of quick questions... Which house should I join? Am I supposed to pick a character from the house genealogies or create one myself? Thanks in advance!

Hey!
It would be best to pick one of the new Houses (Boltons are good - they are Wardens of the North now). And you can create your own character, as long as you show how he/she is related to the lord of the family.

You should actually go for House Blackwood. House Bolton already has several new members. The Blackwoods are only 3

Or House Baratheon, we only have 1 active member.

Yes, but that one member is the King, so you count double.
And don't be afraid to join House Lannister. We have a few members (havn't seen Marten or Quentenian in a while now) but not a lot.
