Creyon inspected the coast line. A warm breeze was blowing from the Southeast. Weather on the Shields agreed with Creyon much better than what he was used to at Harlaw.
"As you can see for yer'self boss, the coast on the East side is calmer. And the area here is deep enough for the ships to anchor. Perfect for your new port," said Gevin
"Here will do. Vrol. Get the architects down here and start partitioning out the land."
"They are already on their way down," growled Vrol.
"Good." Due to bountiful 'harvests' along the Mander, trade on the Shields was booming at a spectacular rate. Captains had too much cargo, and the ports on the islands had trouble keeping up. The more resourceful islanders started entrepot trading, buying from cargo from the Ironborn Captains and selling it to other merchants who were headed to other parts of Westeros. But Creyon had even bigger plans. Right in the middle of the trading routes between the Westerlands, the Mander and the Far Reach, Greyshield was perfectly situated to be the premiere trading hub on the Western coast of Westeros. And now with money flowing in from rich Captains and tax collections, now is the right time to build a new port.
"Will your uncle be funding the construction costs?" asked Vrol.
"Partially. We will sell the land around the port to the Captains who want to build warehouses. We'll use that money to pay for the rest of the infrastructure."
"I will arrange a meeting with them then."
