Lyn got off the ship that brought him to Braavos. He never liked sailing and he always got seasick, so he spent most of his journey over a bucket. Even now his skin had a greenish tone. He walked to the house that he was told to go to, as that will be his new house.
Braavos looked majestic from the moment Lyn sailed through the Titan's legs. The Arsenal looked beautiful in its own way, perched on a large rock and protected by catapults. A large aqueduct was built to bring sweet water to the city as well. Lyn now walked over the bridge that brought him to a tiny island filled with temples. His house was on the northern side of the Long Canal.
On his way he saw waterdancers practicing their art. Two slenderly built men, one bald and one with short red hair moved quickly and their blades were but a shadow in the air. Lyn stepped in front of the house he was told to come to. It was quite a large one, bigger than his house in Lannisport. It was three-storied and it had a light-blue color. He knocked on the door and a moment later and old man opened them to him.
"Lord Lyn Payne?" the man asked
"Unfortunately, I am not a lord. Ser will suffice." Lyn grinned
The old man stepped aside "This is your house no, lo... Ser Lyn."
"No kidding?" Lyn entered the house and inspected it. It looked quite nice from the inside as well as the outside. This was going to be his new home.

Lyn sat in his new study a few hours after he was accommodated. A few minutes before his cousin sent a messenger to him, calling him to dine with her in the Antaryon manse. He decided to use the time between in a fine way. He sent his servants to the city to plant his spies there. He wasn't sure yet if his cousin will be willing to serve him with her own spies. He also told them to find out as much as they can about some nobles of Braavos. Not long after, his main servant came to his solar.
"My lord, your spies have reported. You told us to find the noble of Braavos that has the most dirty, hidden secrets. We found one that we thought was a just a womanizer and a dandy, but it turns out he isn't just that. Two murders and one raping and he also engages in smuggling. His name is Denyo Volentin" The servant smiled
"Oh, now that will be enough. Summon him here." Lyn grinned
"My lord, I am sorry to be so bold, but why are you summoning him?" The servant had a puzzled look on his face
"Let's just say I have a plan, shall we?" he smiled
"Of course my lord." The servant bowed and left to fetch the man he spoke of.
Lyn sighed. He didn't think that any Braavosi would join him willingly. He needed to use the card that every good diplomat and manipulator has; blackmail. After a couple of minutes, the servant returned, leading in the solar a pretty man in his twenties. He had raven black hair and green eyes.
"Welcome to my humble home, master Volentin." Lyn smiled to the youth.
"Valar Morghulis, Ser Lyn Payne. I heard you wanted to speak to me about something." he said
"Yes, yes. You will be a new addition to my retinue. You will work for me as my spymaster in Braavos, will you not?" asked Lyn. Even though he smiled, his eyes were cold
"Oh and what will be the payment?"
Lyn raised his eyebrow "Payment? Oh no, there is no payment master Volentin. Either you serve or you end up in the city dungeons."
"What are you talking about?" Denyo seemed angry
"Either you serve, or I will go to the sealord and tell him all about your activities." He took a piece of parchment and started reading "Two murders, rape, smuggling... Shall I go on?" Denyo's eyes were wide and rage was obviously taking him over "I thought so. Your job won't be hard, you will simply have to report each juicy thing about the Braavosi court to me."
"As you say, you Westerosi prick." Denyo said through his teeth
"Now, now, I wouldn't insult the man that knows all my darkest secrets. You will be going with me to the Antaryon manse tonight, for dinner. The lady Antaryon happens to be my cousin."
"Oh really. I could tell you things about that woman that would chill your blood." Denyo smirked
"That is good. You will tell me later. Right now we must prepare for that dinner. Be here in an hour." Lyn waved his hand dismissively.
Denyo left the room, still in anger. Lyn solved one problem and that one has the key to solving the second one. it seemed that the man knew something about his cousin. Maybe that is enough for Lyn to control her. He started getting himself ready for the dinner, still in thoughts.
