Rodrik is more cautious now, as Balon goes on the offensive, his blade whirling through the air with deadly precision. But Rodrik has mastered Balon's timing, and dodges aside with ease.

Still the two Iron Born men can not gain the upper hand, they circle each other warily, each knowing that a single mistake may put an end to the battle in a single blow.

It is Rodrik who makes the first mistake. Seeing Balon off-balance, Rodrik charges in for the kill, only to catch the hard oak butt of Balon's scythe across the temple. He falls to the ground in a clump.
