The King's Gate

This gate is the south-westernmost portal into the capital, and from it the Roseroad crosses the Blackwater river and turns southward toward the Reach. It is the widest and largest gate in the capital, to accommodate the near constant influx of fruit and grain coming from the Reach, which is required to feed the people of King's Landing.

A large party of fifty knights and twice as many freeriders rides out of the King's Gate, all riding in a protective formation around a large carriage that bears the banner of House Tarly. The party turns south and begins riding along the Roseroad with all due haste.
