The King suddenly stopped laughing, "That is enough Petra." He shook his head, "Just because you are a voracious whore does not mean every woman must be as debauched as you." He smiled and looked to Blair, "In fact I think Brynden would prefer his woman to be decent, and wise." He nodded to her.
Petra drank from her wine quickly.

Petra sighed, "You are both most likely correct. You know Lord Royce so much better then I." She looked away and sipped from her wine glass.
Rodrick smiled, "Why I remember Brynden saying that he loved his woman so much he hurt him every time he had to be apart from her. That every day of every month apart was like a fire..." The King glanced at Blair, "On his heart. Or something more poetical. I have a bad memory for words."

The King patted Lady Royce's hand, "My dear why would I lie about something like that." He laughed, "I have never thought of Brynden as a man who knows how to handle his woman. He seems a bit awkward in that area to me. I am sure he has tried to tell you these things." The King's smile went crooked and he added, "Believe me he has expressed his happiness with every aspect of your relationship."
Petra hid a small smile behind her wine glass, and waited for Blair to blush.

The King chuckled and looked around at the woman sitting in the room, and then looked back to Blair, "Indeed I do, indeed I do."

Blair was blushing indeed. She felt suddenly relieved, but also extremely embarrassed that they were discussing her marriage. "Well, that is interesting," she said. "Thank you for telling me, Your Grace." She glanced at Leanna, Haley and Petra, wondering what they thought of this slightly intimate conversation. "You have a nice view," she said, trying to change the subject. Haley just smiled, still looking at her hands. She felt left out as she was the only un-married woman sat there.

Leanna ground herself against Lord Rodrick as he rocked and laughed.
"Lady Petra, you are so very witty. Does that come from having gone unmarried as long as you have?" Leanna winked at her.

Petra laughed, "It comes from that, but not only that. Apparently wit can be breed, for it is a gift from my loving father."

Haley had a sudden thought that she was being awfully rude, however much she disliked the king at the moment.
"Thank you." She said to him quietly. "Its an honor to be here with you, and with Lady Petra, Lady Blair, and Lady Leanna."

The King's eyes twinkled, "Not many think it is an honor to be in presence." He chuckled, "The stuffed shirts all pretend, and smile. But the moment I leave, they relax and wipe their brows. However it is my right to be a royal pain."

She smiled weakly. "Maybe its that your presense makes them tense as you are such an important... figure in society."

"Your lords sound like a nattering bunch of spinsters. Once you break them in, the pain should ebb and the fun can begin." Leanna winked.

Rodrick smiled, "I like fun." He replied and winked at Leanna, then he turned to Haley, "Its not that, they view me as some kind of uncontrollable monster. Rude, uncivil and hedonistic." He laughed, "That word was almost too much for me."

"Not all monsters are uncivil." Haley said, thinking of one. "And as King, you should be forgiven if you are ever rude, Your Grace."

Rodrick chuckled, and replied, "I am sure there is book of rude comments I could say right now, and you would slap me and storm off." He glanced at Petra and Leanna, then added, "Of course some people have a higer tolerance for rudeness then others."

She smiled. "Your Grace, you are forgetting that I live with my brother. There is very little that I get offended by."
