An inn owned by lord Baldwin Lefford, the Bluebeard inn is a fine establishment. Not an inn where drunks usually come to, but hosting for nobility. Due to the fact that the Lannister townhouse is still being built, Baldwin is staying in the inn.

Having received a prior invitation from Lord Lefford, Lords Marbrand and Velaryon arrive at the inn early on a warm evening. They are escorted by three guards.

Lord Lefford and Ser Lyn welcome them inside. The inn is empty, as now guests are allowed in because of the dinner. A table is set for the lords and the chefs were ordered to prepare only the best meals.
"My lords, do have a seat." Baldwin escorted them to the table

As he took his seat Monterys looked somewhat apologetically at Lord Lefford.
"I hope my lord, you do not mind me bringing Lord Marbrand along. Lord Dudley has decided to lead his men himself in the re-taking of Driftmark. As you said that you would like to discuss the upcoming attack on Driftmark, I thought he should be here."

"I thought you would bring lord Marbrand and it doesn't bother at all. We expected it." Baldwin smiled and sat

As they ate, Monterys made small talk with Lord Lefford, Ser Lyn and Dudley. When they had finished their meal and wine had been served the talk turned to more serious matters.
"So Lord Baldwin, how do you see the upcoming attack on Barclay's forces? Barclay's chief seat is at Sharp Point. Why do you think has he chosen to make a stand at Driftmark?"

"Well, I thought it was self explanatory. Driftmark is an island, therefore harder to approach without seeing the invading forces. Barclay will have greater chances on Driftmark, but not chances to win. Chances to take down as much as he can, I think. When Driftmark is conquered, I will supply you with every single coin you need to rebuild your seat. I suppose you won't have any steady income in the beginning, which is why I will do it."

Monterys nodded in affirmation of Lord Lefford's words.
"That is so my Lord Lefford. But Claw Island is also held by Barclay and is more difficult to get to from Kings Landing. Sharps Point is built on a narrow peninsula and is bounded on three sides by massive cliffs. Even the land approach to Sharps Point is a bottleneck. It can be readily defended by a small force against a much larger one. That's why I found his choice of Driftmark...." Monterys paused searching in his mnd for the right word, "......intriguing."
Monterys leaned back in his chair his face impassive.
"Lord Lefford, I certainly thank you for your offer of aid once Driftmark is re-taken, but I cannot help asking why you would be prepared to aid me in such a way. For I cannot guarantee you any return on your aid, other than my gratitude and friendship."

"I know. I just want to prove my loyalty to this kingdom, lord Velaryon." Baldwin smiled. In translation his words meant: I'm kissing Rodrick's ass

"And moreover Ser, help aid the recovery of the Westerlands in the eye of the King. And so I say thank you on behalf of the rest of us western Lords." He raised his glass in salute of Lord Lefford before draining it.
"Indeed though, this is a very Western affair - for as we all know, our Lord Velaryon here is of strong Lannister blood. So in my mind, not only will his ascension - his rightful ascension to Lordship - represent justice, but also the strengthening of ties between King's Landing and House Lannister - something which can only be a good thing for all of us." He smiled blissfully.
"Have any of you idea of when we are to march?"

"I truly believe it will bring some good to us my lord. And we certainly need good reputation in the court if we are to succeed at anything." Said Baldwin
Lyn answered the question "Lord Mallister said we will move by the end of this month, my lord Marbrand."

Dudley nodded thoughtfully.
"Good. I grow impatient sat around here in the capital."

"The men of Ashemark are hard at work with their training." said Monterys. "We will be ready when Lord Mallister calls."
He took a sip of wine and smiled.
"Of course once I am established in my rightful seat, I will need to think about acquiring a wife."

Dudley offered a wry smile.
"Aye, and about time too."

"I believe I shall have the same bitter-sweet obligation, my lord Velaryon. I've dealt with gold more than with women in my life. Yet, as a singer once said, the hands of gold are always cold, but a woman's hands are warm." Baldwin smiled
