"I am not fond of hypotheticals," Ephira answered, "Arrange the marriage, and you shall see how I direct him." she smiled shortly, but then started as though someone had pinched her hard, "Oh, but I wanted to leave before lunchtime, and now I will be running late. It seems I must be going--thank you for the directions, and do consider my betrothal to your son--the original one, not one of the knock-offs. Ta!" she said, still smiling, but suddenly somewhat harried. "I mean, Ta, my Lord!" she ammended, as she flew down the corridor.

"Certainly not," Alys replied. "I just wanted to get to know your family, Bealor. After all, they will be mine own family too, soon enough." "Yes that is true. Where shall we have the wedding? Dawnrose Keep or would you rather it be somewhere else?"

Alys shrugged.
"Dawnrose Keep will be fine, though I shouldn't object to Goldengrove either. But I'm sure your mother will like to be the hostess so let's not disappoint her."

Megara overheard the last sentence and grinned.

Bealor grinned as well, "Dawnrose it is then. Let us hope your brother agrees to come."

"I don't see why he wouldn't," Alys said. "And if not, well, I wouldn't want him to come if he would rather be elsewhere."

"It will be a wedding that shall be remembered for years to come."

Alys didn't care about that but she saw that it mattered to Bealor so she smiled at him.
"I'm glad of it. I am just happy to be marrying a man who seems to understand me."

Bealor smiled at the words said by his soon to be wife, "I am pleased to be marrying a woman I can share everything with."

"It pleases me to hear that," she said. "I could not be the kind of wife who sits at home waiting for a husband. It's most odd but I am eager to get on with it so I can get used to being married."

Bealor looked worried about that, "I shall try to see how quickly we can get married. Hopefully the King or his Hand will be kind."

"We can hope," Alys murmured. "It seems foolish to wait if we needn't."

Ser Archibald Cressey was sitting in the corner listening to a minstrel play the lute. It was a terrible racket. If the boy was lucky he would call it an evening before the King bothered to attend court and had him strung up for abusing the instruments strings.

The boy blanched, and tears welled up his eyes. he strode away quickly.
"It's alright my dear, at this point in my long life, I'm deaf as a post anyway." Archibald said cheerfully, "You seem in quite a unique mood my dear Lady Blair."
