The new lord of Driftmark, Monterys Velaryon arrives at Lord Mallister's chambers at the same time as Ser Lyn Payne. Monterys is dressed in the sea-green and white colours of his house with the well known Velaryon sea-horse emblazoned upon his tunic. He explains to Lord Mallister's servants who he is and why he is here.
Monterys nods a greeting to Ser Lyn, as he settles down to wait Lord Mallister's summons.

"Lord Velaryon." Lyn greets the man as he enters "I suppose you are here for the same reason as I am."

Both are let in to see Lord Mallister. The Master of Ships is sitting in an armchair looking at a chart of the waters around Driftmark. He waves Lyn and Monterys over.

"Lord Velaryon." Lyn greets the man as he enters "I suppose you are here for the same reason as I am." As they entered Lord Mallister's chambers, Monterys smiled at Ser Lyn. "I'm here to reclaim my lands from the traitor Barclay. I would welcome any assistance to do that from other brave knights, such as yourself. Monterys noticed Lord Mallister waving them over." I believe we are summoned, Ser Knight." As they approached, Monterys took his lead from Ser Lyn and also gave a slight bow to the Master of Ships.

Monterys stated politely.
"Greetings Lord Mallister.
"I am Monterys Velaryon, the Lord of Driftmark. The Hand has requested that I report to you to discuss the re-taking of my lands from the traitor Lyreon Barclay. The Hand informs me you are planning such a venture."

"Aye," Stafford says. "Seems like Barclay has chosen to make his stand at Driftmark, as that's where his men and his ships are gathered now. First I will break his navy with the Royal Fleet. Then we'll have a siege on our hands. Do you have any experience with sieges, Velaryon?"

"Unfortunately no Lord Mallister." Monterys replied. "I have fought in several battles, but no sieges."
He thought for a moment.
"My good friend Lord Dudley Marbrand has sent 300 men to assist your forces. I am sure than unless he accompanies them himself, he would wish me to command them. Whilst you are preparing your other forces, we are willing to train ourselves in siege-craft. Should you wish it of course."

Mallister nods. "Aye, do that. It will take some time for the army to assemble anyway. And tell your Marbrand to come with us while you're at it. It is past time the lords of the West did service for their King."

"My lord Mallister, I am here to speak both on the behalf of my lord, Baldwin Lefford and myself. My lord says he will finance anything you need for this war." he then turned to Velaryon "He also offers help to Driftmark for renewing all its ships and lands once we conquer it." He then turns back to Mallister "Also, my lord, I will fight and I have a experience when it comes to ambushes and I'm fine with a sword."

"If Lefford wants to finance it, I'll not be the one to stop him," Mallister says. "And there's room in the army for any man who's handy with a sword."
