Hamish looked at the house, and almost thought that he had come home to where he grew up, though there were a few differences.
He wondered what would happen now? He didn't know much about the Burley clan actually, as the lands of the clans where far away from his own, but they didn't seem all that difference.
"They seem like good boys" he offered a tired smile.

"We'll see." The man replied, "If they didn't get them ewes shorn I'm gonna tan their hides."
"We should change those dressings. And stay for supper. It's to late for you to be heading out." The woman said, as she let go of the child's hand, and the little girl ran to join her brothers and tell them of her adventure.

"I don't want to inpose on your home" he said and looked at the woman.
"I am sure, I'll be just fine" he managed to get himself up to a sitting position, but then the world seemed start spinning, and he had to lay down again. "Just give me a few minutes."

"Don't be an ass." The woman said firmly, taking Hamish by the arm, "I insist. Jordie, get some of that salted mutton from the lard, and get the cauldron a boiling." As if the Harclay was a young child, she deftly buzzed around him like a bee at a flower, checking bandages, and replacing those which he had bled through. The man came back around with a cup of mead.
"Here, it's good for being sick." The man said.
"It is not," his wife replied.
"No, Well it tastes good then. Drink up." He offered his own cup for a salute of sorts.

Hamish took the cup of ale and raised it.
"Thank you for taking care of me. I'd be dead if it hadn't been for you" he said and looked at the woman and the man.
As he drank it he gave a small face as the ale went straight to his head, he had not eaten properly for the last day or two.

"Nonsense, we owe you for the bear." The man said. "Shame we couldn't skin it. Would make you a hell of a cloak."

Hamish nodded.
"Well, he left me with another memory, though the fur might have protected from the cold in the times ahead. So has there been any news from the south?"

The man shrugged as the woman went off to chop onions and carrots for the stew.
"I was about to ask you the same thing. Seems you were coming from somewhere southways when we ran into you." He said, sipping his mead again.

The food smelt great, the smell made his mouth water.
"Well, when I left, nothing was really going on. We were guarding Moat Cailin, and I left for the Traditional Hunt in my clan, so I don't know what has happened down there, but probably the same thing. Nothing."

"Don't even know what all this here fighting has been about. I know there was some squabbling between the Stark and the Horned Wolf, but we hadn't heard anything before that." the man said, he finished his mead with a long tug at his cup and than set it aside.
"Children!" He yelled, loud enough to startle Hamish, "Supper is on soon. Get your arses in here!"

He had just placed the cup of ale to his lips and taken a large gulp, when the man yelled for his children. The ale went down the wrong side of the troath, and he started to cough.

The man's wife was on him faster than a fox on a free range chicken, and began vigorously pounding him on the back.
"you alright there Hamish? Careful, it's strong stuff." She says with a wry smile.
"I brew it myself," the husband added.

"Thank you again. I just swallowed it wrong. I will be more careful next time."
He sniffed the air.
"Your food smells wonderful. I can't wait to get something to eat, so I can build my strength so I can return home."

"It's always good to be home." the woman said, dishing some stew into an earthen bowl and handing it to the Harclay. Than she spooned some to her husband, the children, and to herself last. The family began to eat quietly.
"You a married man, Hamish?" the wife asked after awhile.

"No, life has always seemed to take me elsewhere to be able to find the time to find a wife, and the Old Gods seem to have other plans for me right now, but I hope one day to find a woman to marry"
The food had barely been set on the table, before Hamish began to eat. He had not been able to eat properly for the last week, so he was as hungry as a bear. The thought made him chuckle.
"This is really good" he said between chews.
