15. December 545. White Harbor
Jon was aboard the Frostwind when the enemy ship started approaching. He was woken up in the morning because of people complaining on a ship that's harassing them. Well, Jon wasn't about to take any enemy in his waters so he prepared his crew and decided to sail against the ship.
Right now he was yelling out orders for turning the ship to face their enemy's hip with their maiden. Some of his men were shooting out arrows and bolts on the enemy ship, but it didn't help, as the enemy did the same. Jon didn't want to destroy the enemy ship. He wanted to take it. He would probably name Roose the captain, depending on the skill he'll show in this battle.
The ship was getting closer and closer. Jon's men continued shooting at their enemy, though it didn't really help much. Roose and his own men prepared hooks on ropes, ready to throw them on the enemy ship. When the enemy was only a few meters away, they threw their hooks and went over to the enemy ship. A few fell, some because of lack of skill, some because arrows shot them down, but Roose and most of the men arrived to the ship. After a few minutes, Jon came as well, his sword ready in his hands.
Roose attacked the captain of the ship, a giant with a thick, black beard. The man wielded a greatsword, which was quite stupid when on sea. Roose slashed off a piece of the man's beard, which obviously angered him. The captain started slashing wildly, but Roose only backed away from him. He caught a rope and quickly climbed on the mast. The captain tried to climb as well, but fell on the floor. Roose threw his sword at the giant, hitting him on the head and breaking it. He jumped off the mast and went for his sword. A crew man tried to stop him, so Roose turned around and took a long oar, hitting the crew man on his head and splitting it in two. He swiftly picked up his sword and charged at a few enemies that fought his men.
At the same time, Jon fought three men that surrounded him. He couldn't run, so he fought as well as he could, trying to take down the tallest of the three. He opened his mouth and let out an unearthly scream. The tall man backed away, obviously thinking Jon is crazy. Jon used this moment and slashed the man's face, cutting off his nose and mouth. He slashed again, this time taking off the man's head. The two men behind him tried to hit him in the back, but Jon was quick enough to parry and disarm both.
After the battle, bodies covered the red enemy ship, but the vessel itself wasn't damaged at all. The men of White Harbor threw the bodies off deck. Jon called Roose to the deck, where he commanded him to kneel.
"Ser Roose Manderly, I name you captain of this ship, whatever name you wish it to have. You can choose any man in the White Harbor you think appropriate to be part of your crew." Jon said to his kneeling cousin
Roose was obviously satisfied with himself "Thank you my lord." he said, smiling to himself
20. December 545. Myr
Symon got of the ship that brought him to Myr, but this time he payed for his travel. He went all over the docks, searching for sellsail ships. After a few hours of asking around, one man told him to go to the Blue Beard Inn where a Tyroshi sellsail resides.
Symon went to the inn, a large stone building. He entered and asked to see the admiral that offers his services for money. He was shown to Daario Mataris, a large Tyroshi dressed in long blue robes. His beard and hair were also blue, but the mustache had a touch of green as well. Symon sat at Daario's table.
"Admiral Mataris, I would like to hire you." he said
"Oh yes? And how much will I get payed?" the Tyroshi asked and drank some of his ale
"Depends on how much ships you have." answered Symon
"Five. The crew is cruel and all of them can handle swords and crossbows." explained Daario
"There is war in Westeros, Mataris. I work for Jon Manderly, lord of White Harbor and vassal of the king of the North, Garris Stark. My master is a very rich man, because his city trades with the Free Cities."
"I have heard of White Harbor. What is your name, northman?" asked Daario
"Symon Snow." said Symon shortly
Daario drank his ale "We are leaving in the afternoon, wait for me at the docks."
Symon smiled and left the inn
