The sun was just beginning to set, and shadows where dancing on the ground from the three clansman that checked the tracks in the ground.
“They are trying to hide themselves by sweeping their tracks, but obviously they have done a half-ass job.” Hamish said to his two comrades. “Let us go, this way” the three men.
They traveled eastward until they found the group of warriors camp, but there was no more than two sentries there. They headed back and then searched around the camp at a safe distance, and after a while Hamish returned and told them that he had found tracks heading back, toward the camp where Lord Cerwyn had made camp for the night, heading for where King Stark had ordered him to be. The three men decided that Hamish should travel back to the camp and tell Cregan of what they had found, while the two of them stayed close to the camp.

Cregan listened to Hamish as the clansman told him and the men that there was a group of Horned Wolf followers on their way toward their camp as they spoke.
“I can't believe it has to come to this” Cregan swore and looked at the gathered men. “To fight those that has served you before, but I guess there is nothing we can do about that now. Gather the rest men and tell them to be ready for battle.”
Cregan rubbed his chin, trying to come up with a way that would mean as less bloodshed as possible for both sides. He tried to think of what his uncle had told him, and the other northern lord he had trained under, and soon he had an idea. He called a few of his closest men to him, and spoke to them about his plans. The leaders nodded and headed away to speak with their men.
Soon a group of fifty men, led by Cregan himself, heads away from the camp, while the rest stayed behind and readied themselves for battle.

Hamish feinted his attack, and the warrior in front of him moved to strike, but Hamish was ready swirled and struck him with the steel capped butt of his spear on the knee. Hamish and his opponent
circle each other. They exchange a few blows to try and gauge the mettle of the other, though Hamish manages to score a stinging jab on the warriors upper left arm. Angered by the blows, the warrior barrels forward, loses his footing and receives spear-head through his throat.
He looked around the camp, and saw others fighting against opponents of their own. He gave a final look at the man he had just killed, and then prepared as next warrior came in front of him.
Where was Cregan and his men?

Cregan huddled behind a small rise, waiting for the perfect moment to perform the attack. He had sent out a few men that had come back to report that a there were reinforcements on the way. His men was fighting well at the camp, now it was up to them to do as good a job as they were doing.
The men were growing restless, their damp clothes itching on them and they worried as it began to turn dark. Whispers sprung if there were at the right place. Some of the calm men tried to compose the rowdy men to no avail, and Cregan was forced to move among them to give them comfort. “I want all men at the ready, your King trusts in you, and I told him that you were some of his best men, let’s prove him right and impress him shall we?”
After another half-hour of waiting, their patience paid off, as the scouts reported that a group of twenty men was making their way down the path that lead towards the camp.
Cregan made signals that moved along the line of men that they should make themselves ready for the attack. They waited until the enemy was exactly in the middle of the area, and then half the men attacked from the opposite direction from where Cregan and his men were positioned, which made the enemy turn toward them. At that point, Cregan and his men attacked. The enemy were overwhelmed quickly.
