Twelve assassins crept into the Red Keep, and moved toward the royal chambers and nursery. Bluffing their way past several patrols, until they are finally stopped. They attack and kill the guards rushing for the Inner Chambers. They go through the antechamber, approaching the rooms of the princesses.
Ser Peregrine Allyrion, Thadeus Thatcher, the queen and several Guardsmen confront them in the nursery and with some hard fighting manage to kill most of them, but one is allowed to slip into the girl's chambers. And before they could reach him he kills Princess Elinor, Princess Jennelynn, and Princess Cyrenna.
The newborn, and second son of the King were in other chambers so were unhurt by the assault.
Ser Peregrine was severely injured.
Thatcher was killed.
The Queen survived, and her loud moans of grief shake the walls of the keep as she secludes herself in mourning.
