We could use a general chit chat thread, don't you think?

So I assume you raised those men in the north?

Yeah, that was me.
So what do you make of all this? I want to get your opinion on it first.

I'm not completely sure. Rickon is a friend to the north, you, and I. However, I think we all acknowledge that Rodrick is bad for the realm. I'm not very decided on the matter... I don't want to pull a Frey, but I'm related to them, I'm pretty sure.
I'm confused.

Huh? Related to Freys, wait, what?
It's a little confusing, but the way I see it is -- would the North rebel against their rightly King without 100% solid proof? He's done nothing against us, and we were no major friends of Roland Royce. I think it might be hoo of us to sit back until called upon by either side. I think that the Riverlands would side with us for the King under Blackwood, despite Pieter going against him.

I was thinking something of the same. I only mentioned the relation to the Freys as I didn't want to sit back until something happened, or until one side had clear victory. We'd have to consult with the Riverlands.
I agree with you otherwise. I just didn't want dispute amongst the North. It's a shame we'll have to kill the II, Far Reach, Vale and others.

Eh, we won't kill them all, just the revolters.

Alright Gariss, I wrote Tully asking him to come north.

My letter:
Lord Pieter,
No doubt we both will know that news of your declaration has reached even the far trappings of the North. I must say that I am, for lack of a better word, vexed. It is not an easy thing for a man to betray his King, especially without solid proof self-witnessed. I have already spoken with Lord Dondarrion on the matter, and he avows that a number of guardsmen can verify that your claims of the murder of Roland Royce are true.
Mayhaps it is in the nature of a northman to be cautious, for we live in a land far harsher than the southron kingdoms, not because we must, but because we choose to.
I pen this letter to invite you to treat with Lord Gariss and myself, his key adviser, to discuss the matter in depth. While the North is detached enough from the South to remain alone and away from the conflict, it is not our nature to sit and wait for a victor to emerge. I write you before I write any man of the Kings for the reason of our friendship only; I would give to you the opportunity first to present your side of the matter.
Write back as soon as time permits. With your word, we will be waiting to greet you.
Lord Olander Reed

His response:
Lord Reed,
I regret to say I have not much time to treat with you. I do not wish for this conflict to drag out longer than it must.
As for the matter of proof... King Rodrick is rapacious and belligerent. He has done naught but drain the Crown's treasury and spoil everything he touches. Lord Roland Royce was unfairly imprisoned, against the laws of Westeros. Nobles are to be given a trial, and Roland was refused a trial, let alone a cause for his imprisonment. And on the eve of his release, negotiated by Queen Selyse of the Vale, he mysteriously dies. The Vale has no enemies, Lord Reed, that could have possibly wanted Roland dead, other than the King who was so eager to imprison him and clearly did not wish for the reason of his imprisonment to spread.
I implore you to find the reason in what I say, for no one is safe from a King who does not even follow laws. If it had been Lord Stark, in place of Lord Roland, would you be so hesitant?

"If it had been Lord Stark, in place of Lord Roland, would you be so hesitant?"
I find it funny.
