The Lord Hand enters the throne room, looking frustrated and terribly mad. He demands to see the King as soon as possible.

The King is found at his bar, and eventually makes his way into the Throne room. Looking at Breck he says, "What do you want Breck?"

"What is this?", Breck said, holding a copy of the royal decree Rodrick had passed.

"I don't remember, read it back to me." Rodrick shrugged.

"King Rodrick the Third declares that the position of Lord Paramount of the Crownlands is no more. This was an error made by a previous King, and shall now be rectified. In addition, Lord Barclay shall name Liegemen of good birth and honor to three of the keeps under his commmand, and the fourth castle shall be Lord Barclay's permanent and only seat. The other three castles all will answer to Barclay, but those keeps shall from now on have lords of their own." Breck read the declaration with no sign of emotion besides poorly feigned annoyance. "Is this how you reward loyalty?"

Rodrick nodded, "Of course. Why else would I have done it."

Breck raised an eyebrow inquisitively. "This is nonsense. Lord Barclay is your firm supporter, and you revoke his titles? I assure you nothing good shall come of this."

"Well I have had several other loyal lords insist that the situation can not go on as it is." Rodrick replied, "I acted as I thought best, no other lord in my whole realm commands so many keeps. Why does Barclay deserve special treatment?"

"Those are keeps he has earned fairly and through loyalty. Both inherited and earned through sacrifice for your family and you."

Rodrick nods, "He still commands them, but he just has to name liege lords. He should be grateful he had them for as long as he did. Can you say one act he has done to earn something no other lord has? And is he really worth more then the good will of the Far Reach, North or Riverlands?"

"The Barclays have remained the firmest of support to House Baratheon. And your arguement is invalid, your grace. You could say the same of anyone else in power, nobility or royalty. Their ancestors were the ones who earned the position, they simply inherited it through their blood."

Rodrick waved, "I have decided, and decreed. Even if you changed my mind, I would not overrule it now. It is public."

Breck nodded. "As you have said, so shall it be done."
