"Ale veins thick like a dog," Stafford murmurs, rubbing his head and looking around drunkenly, "like a dog."

Ipithius is shaking his head at Stafford's antics, a small smile on his lips. He looks at the sigil on Tarly's doublet and his smile takes a sad cast. "If you wish," he says.

Owen laughed heartily at Stafford's response."Fair enough, Lord Mallister".

"Fair enough like a dog!" Stafford roars, and decides this is the most amusing thing he has ever said. Kijo Sand helps the Master of Ships to his feet. "Help me get him to a room upstairs," he says to Owen.

Owen does so and more or less pushes Stafford up the stairs as Kijo leads him.

Samuel smiles awkwardly at the foreigner, not quite knowing where to begin. "I suppose, just to come out and say it. You killed my father," he said stating the obvious.
"I just... I suppose I wanted to simply talk to you as a man, to understand you. I am not filled with a desire to kill you, as I expected to be," he said quietly. He paused, lapsing into an awkward silence. "How did you come into the King's service?" he asked finally, his eyes betraying his curiosity.

Soon the Master of Ships is snoring softly in one of the tavern's beds.

"I met Rodrick when he was scaling the walls of Myr at the front of his host," Ipithius says, "I fought him there, and he vanquished me, and I laid there in my own blood and expected to take my last breath."
The Myrman rummages around with a few canteens hanging from his side, selects one, and pours a blue-greenish mixture from it into his drink.
"But I survived the battle, and afterwards Rodrick came to visit me. He remembered our fight and complimented me on my skill. And from there," Tides shrugs, "Rodrick has a strange way about him. I do not know how anyone could know him well and not become his friend."

"I have never met him in person," Samuel admitted.
"I was quick to denounce him as an unjust and false king, following the lead of so many others," he murmured. "Obviously the gods proved us to be in the wrong..." The lord's voice trailed off, and it was evident that a huge turmoil of thought was swirling in his head.
"I will bear you no enmity, Ipthius Tides," he said at last. "I can hold no grudge against you for winning a fight, fairly, before the eyes of gods and men."

"Your father fought well," Ipithius says. "Good men died on both sides. But as cruel as it seems, it is better for eleven men to die in a trial than eleven thousand to die on the field of battle."

Samuel nodded solemnly. "I cannot believe anything other than that it was the Gods' will for his grace to win, and I am glad that was proven without the deaths of thousands of my countrymen, though I still mourn my father." The reachlord stopped speaking abruptly, and sat silently for a moment.
"What's that you've got?" he asked, nodding towards the foreign warrrior's hip flasks.

Ser Harmen Wells enters the establishment after the King requested all White Team members attend. He is wearing a simple tunic with the nest of coals, his personal arms, and his right arm a hint to why it is his sigil.
He approaches Rodrick, "Greetings Your Grace, I am to be competing for a white cloak." Ser Harmen said respectfully.

Ser Jeremy Rivers found his way into the bar, a skin of wine already in his hand. He was wearing rough leathers, with a ring of golden stars on his breast.
He spied the room for Rodrick, whom he had fought beside in the past.

It was part of the reason that the Barclay's took power there.

Lord Frey and his would-be whitecloak of a cousin Ser Hamilton enter. He orders some Dornish wine for himself but forbids Hamilton from drinking and making an ass of himself in front of the king.

The King weaves on his feet, clearly drunk, one hand plunged into a barmaid's neck line, and he bellows, "What?"

Harmen grinned, "I said I'm going to fight for a white cloak. But who cares about that right now, it's time for drinking. I see you got a head start too!" Harmen said chuckling.
