~Morning~
"Excellent," Galahad said, proudly, as he saw the prince let off another arrow, this once close to the target. "You're getting the hang of it, just be careful of your elbows."
Serwyn relaxed his bow, and loaded an arrow. Looking at Galahad sideways, he said. "Again?"
Galahad responded by letting loose an arrow, as it hit the chest of the dummy, hitting the inside ring of the mark. He smiled at that, before looking to Serwyn, who loosed his own arrow, hitting the dummy just bellow the mark, in the stomach.
"Well done, Serwyn. You have the hand for this, just as the sword. Just focus and you will excel," Galahad said calmly, taking another arrow and letting it loose again, this time hitting the chest mark dead center, "Take your time," he instructed, "Be slow. Slow is smooth, and smooth is quick."
"Slow," Serwyn repeated, nodding. He picked up his own bow, breathed, and slowly opened his eyes to the target; loosing his own arrow, he accomplished hitting the dummy in the face. He smiled broadly, looking at his hit mark, and looked to Galahad. "Did I do well?"
Galahad chuckled lightly and nodded the slightest bit. "Again."
~Midday~
The Prince was all matched up in his jousting equipment atop his horse, which looked far too large for him, at the other side of the lists. His lance was black and gold, and he almost struggled to hold it. Galahad sat atop his white horse, in his white armor, but held no lance. "Just remember your lessons. You'll do fine."
At the same moment, they thundered towards eachother. He had taught the prince how to ride, and how to joust. How to fight with the sword and shoot a bow. How to lead men and how to build a strategy. He learned quickly.
As the prince was coming upon him, Galahad shouted, "Put the lance in the pocket, now. Steady it! That's right, now aim, and thust," he said, raising his shield, felling something hard glance off it.
When they came back around, Galahad turned and spoke loudly, though still silently, so the prince had to listen hard to hear. "You did well, let's do it again, only this time, strike with more confidence. You can do it, I've seen it before. The target is yours, so take it."
They mounted back up, and set off again. This time, Galahad didn't have to instruct him on anything, only commenting with "That's right," when he set himself up perfectly. Galahad raised his shield, just in time, to have the lance smash against it, sending it into shards.
Lowering his shield, he saw the prince recoiling, shaking a little in his seat from the impact, his whole body jarred.
"Very good," Galahad complimented, coming upon the young man. "The rest will be perfected with practice, and grow with age. You did well today," he said in earnest. "Now come, I'm sure your mother would like to see you."
