"Well, I don't know what we can do about the contemptible Braavosi for now, but the Pirates, there's no reason for us to endure that. We should be able to find them and burn them out easily enough with a little dedication."

"Indeed," Dorian said appearing a bit uneasy about the use of force. "The merchants are convinced that these attacks are more then your usual run of the mill reaver attacks and instead suggest that their attacks are coordinated and deliberate as if the pirates have a more sinister motive then just simple thievery," Dorian reached down and grabbed a handful of shelled nuts from a tray.
"Course," crunch crunch went the nuts, "it could all be" crunch crunch "just simple sailor's tales."

"Well, I don't know. I think it would be better to take seriously than to disregard. Worse thing that could happen, we spend some time getting sunburnt and looking like fools. But if it is something, and we do nothing about it..." Cyrus shrugged.

Dorian grabbed another handful of nuts, "Well we had best talk to the" crunch crunch, "Redwynne's" crunch crunch, "they may no more of the situation" crunch crunch "then we do."

"That's true. And speak with Master Flea as well, if the pirates have a base anywhere in the known world, He'll know where."

"So what of other news, have we found an excuse to free Justin from the prison of the small council? It would be nice if he had more time for discussions here in his lands instead of attempting to account for the King's appetite for everything extravagant."

"I'm sure he's doing his level best to get himself fired." Cyrus laughed, "My sister misses him too. I think she's going to demand he give her another child when he returns. There's little good he can do on the council in any case, but would the position be better filled by a Dornishman? Seven preserve us."

"Well maybe when Rodrick gets tired of the excuse, 'I am sorry your grace but there are no dragon's in the treasury.' the accountant tends to get blamed for that whether its his fault or not. Better a Dornishmen's head on traitor's walk then our liege lord."

"That's true enough. But what malicious lies will the sand snakes utter in his ear before Rodrick gets around to taking his snake tongue. Smith help us if the Crown's finances were to be at the disposal of Sunspear too, for them to pump into their den of iniquity."

"The idea of the Dornish trading anything is preposterous, if the Sea Lord did not have such affection for the ill conceived offspring Horas Martel the whole place would have been barren."
"How can Sunspear supplant Oldtown in trade? Its in the middle of nowhere with nothing useful but colored glass. No sooner do the goods arrive in Sunspear then they are carted back on the ship and moved elsewhere on Dornish Ships. The fact the Sea Lord tolerates shows how weak he has become in his old age more concerned about his legacy then his coin purse."
"The fact the Dornish have anything now is no less then my father's insistence that their Kingdom be rebuilt, a point even Lord Qorgyle would begrudge if properly intoxicated."

"Well, I agree with you, but what can be done about it? You suggest with reason with the Sealord? Seems kind of fruitless to me."

"My point is that the supposed Dornish wealth is nothing more then a shell game to increase their prestige. There is no population or overland routes to bring the goods to market, the Greenblood and other Rivers which could be viable ducts are protected by psychotic cultists. Even if Dorne wanted the ear of King Rodrick I doubt he would listen to them."
"Do you remember the stories your mother used to tell us as kids, about the monster dire wolves of the mountains and how you and Loren would take turns howling to scare me? And I refused to go to sleep without a candle for almost a month?"
Dorian sighs "Well no matter what precautions I took against the Dire wolves there was nothing that I could do to protect myself from them because they didn't exist and it wasn't until I realized that there wasn't any monster direwolves that I was able to react rationally."
"My point is that putting Lord Justin in jeopardy, in the very real dangers of King Landing, with the defense he has to protect us against an imagined Dornish threat isn't going to do any good either. Its like holding a candle to protect us from the monster dire wolves."

"So what, he tells them to shove their position, and risk their very real anger?" Cyrus said, unhappily.

"Perhaps. I can mention it to him. I'm not sure how he'll take it, but we might be able to make a case." Cyrus frowned, "If it's working for Cedric and no one is bothering him, they can't blame us can they?"
