"Where do you see this storm arising, and where do you expect it to make landfall Ser Wulf?" Justin asked.

Why does everyone in this realm insist on talking in metaphors Loren thought to himself as he waited Ser Wulf's opinion.

Wulf was beginning to get a bit irritated himself at the extended metaphor. "Do you not see it, Lord Hightower? How many regions went unrepresented at the feast this eve? As I said, maybe nothing will come of it, but old allies will be useful if it does."

Justin nodded. "Your own delegation was... noticeably small, Ser Wulf. The North seemed disinclined to attend as well, the West also. What do you think that signifies?"

"Yes Justin, there are age old animosities that exist that even fifteen years of relative peace cannot heal. . . though missing a party is one thing but if there is something more sinister a foot that is something quite different."
"While I do not presume to speak for Lord Hightower, I think we would both be in agreement that like minds should come together in good as well as bad times as trouble is not something as easy to predict as the weather."

Wulf grinned at the mention of the Islands' representation, "bigger than it has been at other times, though."
"At the moment the kingdom is dry kindling, all it needs is a flame to set it afire," he says, then adds, "and if you ask me who holds the flame next, Lord Hightower, I'm liable to leave."

"You can speak for the Lord of Pyke, in these regards Ser Wulf?" Justin asked.

"He has asked me to come here. The Islands and what now makes the Far Reach had been bitter enemies for centuries before Braavos was even heard of. But peoples who have been enemies for so long can see eye to eye on many issues, and we don't like it when others get involved in our squabbles."

Irwyn nodded in agreement, the one thing that he appreciated about the Ironborn was that they were honest for the most part in their intentions. . . they hated almost everyone equally.
Although the Far Reach and the men of Iron had made considerable progress before their ill timed alliance with the Basilisk. Though many would argue it was simply because they were tired of getting the raw end of the spear a feeling that many in the Far Reach were sympathetic towards.
Loren waited for Justin to respond his eyes deep in thought as he debated in his own head.

"No. And our mutual distaste for the Braavosi comes to an apex in Sunspear, where many of our friends and fathers died. And now the Dornish grow fat and arrogant on Braavosi trade. Trade which We'd rather see in Oldtown, and which, I'm guessing here, you'd rather see in the holds of your ships, with their Braavosi flagged vessels on the bottom of the sea."

Wulf laughed, "you have a keen understanding of the Ironborn mindset, Hightower."
"Yes, Sunspear's new strength, and Braavos' control over the Narrow Sea has caused outrage in the islands. Were Saltcliffe's rebellion not crushed, he would have tried to seperate the Islands from the throne several years ago."

"Yes. The Islands have always had an independent mindset, yet they've chosen the course of loyalty in every case except for one, and I think we can blame that on the Crown's sad tendency to punish loyalty and reward treason. Their control of the Stepstones must make life difficult for your reavers as well. A shame. I prefer it when the ships of the free cities make easier targets, it makes the rest of our vessels less inviting.
"How would the Lord of Pyke begin to address these concerns with Braavos and its overreach?"

"Given how deeply the Braavosi have sunk their claws into the stag, I have the impression Qhored thinks we would best served biding our time, and alerting each other should an opportunity present itself.

"That seems a prudent measure Ser Wulf, I would consent to continued consultation on these matters." Justin said, nodding in agreement.

"Lets just hope that the opportunity presents itself while we still have time to act. We know a majority of the Lords are craven and if the threat looks too big or will cost them more then a few dragons from their pocket, they will roll over like a well trained pup." Loren said not showing a lot of confidence in the other Lords of the Realm.
