You can join pther houses than Martell and Blackwood, but they are the only ones, who need players. All the other houses are almost completely reserved.

I'll hazard a guess that they are way too many Lannisters =] Oh well, maybe I can take Martell rather than creating another Lannister. So you just put your char stats in the creation thread and your character is created? So the "taken"s on these geneologies don't exactly say who has which existing/invented char, since there are only a few "taken"s by the names when really most houses are really full?

"Your character should be a member of one of the following families:
House Lannister, Wardens of the West House Royce, Wardens of the East House Tyrell, Wardens of the South House Martell House Blackwood
If not, then you must send your idea for a character to myself and I will approve or decline it.
In addition you must fill out the following information:
1) Character Name:
2) Character Age:
3) Character Nationality (Stormlands, The Reach, etc):
4) Character Byname:
5) Character Skills (Choose 2 beginner skills, 2 novice skills, 2 apprentice skills, and 2 expert skills):
6) Character's Second (you roleplay through this character to speak on behalf of your main, when they are not able to attend):
7) Character Personal History:
8) Character Physical Description:
9) Character Reputation:
10) Your AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ or email address (so other players may have the opportunity to contact you)."
These are Crakehalls official instructions, you just fill in that form and post it to character creation thread.

Well you'll see when you look at the Character Creation thread but a lot of people tend to create not just their own characters but how they fit in with the current House structure, any wives & children they have etc, so it all adds up and makes it look like there's a lot of 'blanks' when they aren't really designed to be played anyway. As for why the Houses are 'filled up' - I suppose it's more a balance thing. We have quite a few 'active' Lannisters, Tyrells, Royces and Martells. The Blackwoods are probably the quietest House at the moment as it's the newest. I think the game Admin would rather you joined that one to be honest. It's basically the version of House Tully in this game. There were quite a few Starks but for some reason they all stopped posting & playing so the GM closed it and decided to run that House as a NPC one. As far as creating your character goes, check earlier posts in the thread to give you some idea of what you want to do. Also don't forget to create a 'second'. This is another more minor PC who can act as 'you' in other areas - this comes in handy a lot!

Thanks you guys. It makes a lot more sense now =] I might join the Blackwoods, since they need it more.
Last little question, can you create more than one character or are you limited to just one? thanks again =]

Just one at the moment although as I said earlier, you can create a 'second' who has skills as well. Your main character has the following; 2 expert skills, 2 apprentice, 2 novice & 2 beginner. Your second has the same except only 1 expert skill, not 2. You can also RP other minor characters as well if you want to interact with other PCs in different locations. You'll see what I mean as you explore the threads

Apart from your PC and your second, you can also RP men under you; for example, your soldiers, if you want to use them in some kind of sneak attack, your sellswords, your children, your dogs.

cool, I think I get most of it now =] Thanks again! I'm going to create a Blackwood character now. I'm not done with the series, so I'll try not to post something utterly unrealistic =]

Spoiler free info on the Blackwoods, from westeros.org: The Blackwoods are an old house in the Riverlands, descended of the First Men, and are perhaps the only remaining great house of Riverlords which follows the old gods. See their shield here: www.westeros.org/Graphics/Heraldry/her_blackwood.gif

Welcome, Marcella Blackwood.
Odd; aren't the Royces also one of the few southron families who worship the old gods?

As far as I can remember, Royces and Blackwoods are the only southern families worshipping old gods.

Not quite. The Royces trace their descent to the First Men (as opposed to the Arryns, who claim to be the purest Andal line). However, the Royces do worship the Seven, as evidenced by their accepting knighthood (example: Ser Robar Royce, Ser Waymar Royce).

I have a question: I know the Royces are descended from Bronze Yohn Royce, and that the Starks are descended from Robb, but are the Lannisters descended from Tyrion, since the twins were killed for their incest/adultery? Or was Tyrion killed too, and Baldwin is descended from Kevan or something?
And are the Tyrells descended from Willas?
