Rodrick is waiting at the small town of Green's Corner for Jeyne and her company. He rides a might warhorse in his armor, and bearing his sword. He waits watching the town pretties eye him over their daily tasks.

Soon the queen cantered up on a bay Dornish mare, followed by her red cloaks and a white knight. She came up beside Rodrick and looked around. "Good morning, there! So, is this the first site you liked?"

Rodrick turned his roguish smile away from a red-haired peasant girl and looked at Jeyne, "Not here. A couple of miles into the wood."

"Good," Jeyne said. "I was worried for a moment." She smiled. "Let's go, then, shall we?" She kicked her horse forward and the mare, Valiant, tossed her head, snorted and took off.

Rodrick led her into the Wilderness, removing his bow and stringing it. "Just in case." He added to Jeyne. "Did you have a pleasant journey?"

"It was quite an easy ride," she said. "The weather was good, and Valiant makes a good pace. One of my men plucked blackberries for me as we came closer to the woods, which was refreshing."

"Thanks for bringing only a small army." Rodrick replied, "Does that ever grow frustrating for you? I told my guards to obey Selyse, if she wants to be alone she is allowed."

"Sometimes," Jeyne admitted. "But they are necessary, especially since there are still who would do us harm. Ser Mychel once saved me from three assassins, and that was only one year ago. So I don't mind too much; if anything, I am grateful."

Rodrick nodded, "Oh, I understand. But the way I feel is, if they are here to protect your life, then they should allow you to have one." He smiled at her.

Jeyne smiled. "I agree. But that's why you're building this lodge, isn't it - for privacy?"

Rodrick nodded. "Of course." then his eyes straining he pointed ahead. "You see that rise, with almost no trees atop of it. That is where I was thinking."

Jeyne squinted. "It looks all right, but it would also be extremely visible. You want a place that is not so high above the trees - something more interior, lost in the woods, with plenty of trees surrounding it.
"However, if you built a lodge up on that rise, I would be able to design a much grander building, and you could throw hunting parties there."

"My plan was to camp at each location, and try and get a feel for the terrain." Rodrick replied. "Maybe you should send your men up to set up a camp."

Jeyne spoke to her men, who rode up immediately. "That's a good idea," she said to Rodrick. "It looks like a large site, too." They began to ride up.

As they arrived, Rodrick pointed out some of his ideas to Jeyne, and listened to her advice. It was obvious all the ideas were making him more and more excited. When they finally reached the clearing atop of the hill Rodrick looked out over the wilderness. "This view.... it is going to be hard to say no to this view. I will build a large manor here even if I find a better location for Selyse later."
