"Shut yer fuckin' whore-son's mouth!" screeched Yellow-Teeth, glowering the clouds of a winter gale. "Lord Manderly was a goodly man, a lord o' the north! That torch-fucker killed 'im in cold blood! Pylos was brought to justice!"
The young guard would have clamored further, but he was thankfully restrained by Crow's Feet, albeit unenthusiastically.

"He was poisoned by his host and his body was mutilated and dismembered without any respect to his family or station. Your lord's concept of justice has little appeal to me, I'm afraid." He was the very picture of dignified outrage, if the artist had added a hunchback, distorted limbs, and a face like a heart tree.

"You're a liar, boy," Crow's Feet finally spoke up, in a quiet, but forceful drawl. "Or yer makin' shit up 'gain. You weren't there. Pylos was stabbed, I saw it m'self, an' only after he resisted capture an' tried t' light a jar o' bubblin' pitch t' burn us all t' hell did he die. Three stabs. Quick like. More mercy than a man like him deserves," he grumbled, spitting on the stone floor.

"Bubbling pitch? With what, his bare fingers? Is that some joke?" In truth, he had no idea what they were talking about at this point, but he snickered anyway.

"With a fucking lantern, or a fucking torch, or a fucking candle and wick, you slimy lizard's cunt," Yellow-Teeth spat. "Fingers? What's the fuck he on about with fingers?" he puzzled at the elder guard, who simply shrugged, and continued to watch Meraxes.

"I thought you were present! Well, what was it, a lantern, a torch, or a candle?"

The two guards simply looked at each other for a long moment and began to laugh, Yellow-Tooth with a guffaw that rose and fell like the tide, and Crow's Feet managing a few dry chuckles.
"Beggin' yer pardons, but he's fuckin' crazy, milord," the young guard said to Lord Tully, still giggling to himself at the pointedness of the question.

He resisted the powerful urge to roll his eyes. "You see what I've had to deal with, my lord?"

Crow's Eyes grunted and Yellow-Teeth rolled his eyes, but neither bothered to respond, waiting to see what the riverlord would speak.

Pieter seethed, growing weary of this bickering. "Meraxes, enough." Pieter stated. "If you would please excuse us, guards, I wish to speak with Meraxes alone." Pieter gave Meraxes a hard stare as the guards left.
"Back at the Wedding you stated you didn't care about your cousin Pylos. You've just been putting on a charade for the sake of argument. You need to stop this nonsense, Frey, I was invited here. We are guests." Pieter said, ever so slightly putting emphasis on I.

The Frey looked Pieter in the eye... "Just because I don't love my family doesn't mean I enjoy watching them die... I was polite to Olander Reed because I was in the presence of His Majesty and his most trusted lords... I am disrespectful to the guards here because they enjoy disrespecting me and they are under orders not to harm me. My cousin likely deserved what he recieved, but I still would not fancy the company of a man who disrespects the gods and men alike without losing sleep."
He was telling the truth. Men shaped like this are often deeply aware of the world's injustices, since they are frequently inflicted througout their lives. He shook his head, "Besides, I did not seek you out to banter about dead cousins, but living ones. My lord, I am here to tell you that I know who desires your head..."

Pieter sighed and moved on from the previous conversation. His face grew dark when Meraxes mentioned what he was really here for.
"I did not know that so many people enjoyed eating fish heads." Pieter said ruefully, with a snicker. "Tell me, who is it that would decapitate this trout?"

"A man named Ser Warren Frey and likely half the Crossing..."

Pieter walked around for a moment, thinking it over. Can I even trust this Frey? No doubt he would sell out his family for power.
"What evidence do you have that persecutes them?"

Over the next ten minutes, Meraxes Frey showed Pieter Tully a ledger indicating a large sum of gold had been transported to an specified recipient in Maidenpool. The ledger was clearly marked as belonging to Ser Warren Frey, the Frey's representative in King's Landing. Next, he revealed three letters, (also in Ser Warren's handwriting) thanking several men for their resolve in bringing down the tyrant Tully and redeeming the Riverlands in the names of the true patriots Walder Frey and Horas Blackwood. The handwriting was identical to the ledgers.
"Obviously, since I don't have him here, I can't just prove it to you... but if you go to the Crossing or even King's Landing, you'll find his handiwork."
Afterwards, he mentally counted the seconds until Pieter asked him where he got the letters.
