On hearing news of pockets of trouble flaring up over Dorne, Ser Steffen Lannister enters into conversation with Prince Aellion.
"Your grace," he says on a break in conversation amongst Aellion's subjects, "Let us talk of the troubles in Dorne, and to what advantage we might play them."
He stood up and continued. "It is widely thought now that a declaration of independence may well be made in the near future by the Dornish. A move they have made before many times, and will continue to make, it would seem, until the end of time. Much like Ironborn independence." He said this last line without even a glance at their resident Pyke.
"At the very least, we can take from this the knowledge that the Dornish will for the time being prove a thorn in the side of the Baratheon boy. Can we take it for more than this however? Do we think that the Dornish will support a true king of the seven kingdoms?"
He asked with a tone that suggested that without anyone having any major input, he would answer the question himself.

Aellion sighed, "I'm under the impression you have an answer Ser Steffen?"

His face took on a sidelong look of intrigue.
"Not neccesarily your grace," he said, no doubt to widespread disapproval and tutting from Aellion's ragtag court.
"I feel that we have several options here, and we must explore which one stands to gain us the most. From what I can see, we can either attempt to draw them to our cause entirely, forcing them to kneel to King Rhaegar; we can claim to ally ourselves with them for now, helping to wage war on the usurper, but perhaps under a different, anonymous guise; or finally, if neither of these are viable, we might simply choose to co-operate with them, denouncing them as traitors, but using any military move they might make to aid any of our own."
He looked around the room, looking for interest, opinions and ideas.

"I do not like dealing with traitors. They must come to our side, or they must perish. See to it Steffen."

"So you would not ally yourself with them now, with a view to conquering them later? That is of course if they do not follow..."

"If they do not submit we will drowned them in fire and blood until they do submit."

Steffen sighed quietly.
"Right you are your grace, I shall see to the writing of the required letters."
With a small bow, he turned to leave.
