The three knights climb the rope ladders from their small boat onto the deck of Lord Redwyne's flagship. They are brought before Lord Redwyne.

Redwyne stood before them in full armor, clearly he did not share the common sailor's fear of drowning.
"If you're here to discuss terms of surrender, I'll hear them. Otherwise I think you're wasting our time."

"Whether Dragonstone submits, largely depends on your terms. We are here to listen to your terms and convey them back to Lord Velaryon for his decision."
"If satisfactory terms can't be reached, thousands of men will die." said Ser Ameron.
"Dragonstone is well supplied and its defences are strong. Most of those that die in any assault will be your men."

Lord Redwyne shrugged. "It may happen like that, it may not. Terms are these. Lord Velaryon submits himself to the King's Justice, where he will be tried for treason, and, most likely executed. Any lord or knight who takes a knee and swears his fealty once again to King Rickon, shall be spared, and confirmed in his lands and titles. That is the only offer I have permission to make, and I'm not inclined to listen to any high-falutin' speeches. You accept, or any Lord or knight who takes up arms will be put to death as a traitor, their heirs disinherited, and their lands distributed to those lords who do know the meaning of loyalty. Accept or reject, your choice."

Ser Ameron replied tartly.
"Well there's a generous offer. Death for Lord Velaryon by the executioner's axe or death for Lord Velaryon fighting nobly to the end against injustice. Which would you choose Lord Redwyne?"
He paused.
"Indeed I'm surprised that you've bothered with Dragonstone. Kings Landing has fallen to the invader and I hear is under seige by the Baratheons. Shouldn't you be assisting by blockading the city?"

Redwyne looked at Ser Ameron as one would regard a particularly unattractive boil which one desires to lance, but does not have time to go to the maester just yet.
"I thought it quite generous to the people of Dragonstone." Redwyne said, "and these foreign bastards have no ships, they can neither escape nor bring in supplies. So, lucky me, I get to focus all my attention on you rebels. Now get off my ship."

Ser Ameron gave a short stiff bow
"Very well Lord Redwyne. Waste your men here if you wish. With the Ironborn and Riverlanders marching against the Baratheon, the invaders in control of Kings Landing and a Targaryen claimant who reputedly has dragons, you may need every man and ship you can get in the future."
Together with his companions he turned to exit the ship.

"Send a messenger ship to the Army. Rebel Defenders both resolute and delirious. Blockade remains in force." Redwyne said to his aide, as he turned to go back to his cabin.
